Traveling with Green Backpack [Archive]

(w/o the US flag).

I have read on a lot of travel sites that traveling with colors like these is not a good idea. Especially in the non-Western world. One is more likely to draw attention from the police and military esp considering considering my non-white lineage.

Personal experiences?

People might think you're a bit shady, in comparison to someone with a colourful store-bought backpack that's obviously a tourist. Are you clean-cut, or do you have long hippy/metal hair, piercings, and a beard?

I'm clean cut but have a tendency to look like an adherent of the Mohammedian religion if my beard is allowed to grow naturally.
