Something about a boy who ran away from home after his dog was killed by his neighbour. I remember some part about a subway station. And that's all.

Does anyone know this book?

It sounds like:

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime
Mark Haddon

Though maybe not, being that you left out the fact that the main character is autistic and the book is written from the autistic child's point of view. But maybe...a dog does get killed, and if I remember correctly he does end up in a subway.

Fun read, even if its not the book you're looking for you should read it.

That sounds right.

The boy's dog is killed by the neighbor, and I believe the boy runs away from home and tries to go live with his mother and her boyfriend, who don't want him. He takes the subway to his mother's house, and when he gets there he counts trucks out the window while his mom plots to get rid of him. I think; it's bee a while since I read it.

It's an awesome book, though.

That's the one. I only vaguely remember it as I first read it when I was 8. Just picked it up. Great read. Thanks.
