Is this just gup chucking into birch? I thought shake n bake was some BS like gun bluing (a more suitable name for dissolving metal red, IMO). But birch is effective overall, is it not?

You don't really need a recipe, it comes all in the box just follow the instructions.

Yeah, there was some buzz about this on WD a bit ago I recall. Half the time it was typed up by someone who could barely type, but from what I gathered (I only ever skimmed, I couldn't really care less about making a pile of impure shite) it was roughly a shitty birch so as to be able to power through the gaks, as SoH says.

Half the time the Li was stuffed into the cap of the bottle, the cap screwed back on, the contents inverted, shaken, and then the pressure released by hand... Of course, if this was done too late or not often enough, the bottle ruptures and you get sprayed with anhydrous ammonia/lithium/acids/bases etc.

I've had the displeasure of using something that was made this way, and it was not meth. I don't know what the fuck it makes, but it's garbage that makes you crazy as a shit house rat. Stay away from it. You wanna make meth, I suggest you start hitting the books.

Indeed, but I had papers on it and it definitely worked for reduction of benzenoid compounds although benzylic alchohols were not mentioned. Solvent of choice is preferably NH3 (which doesn't need to be diverted from farms but can be made from base+ammonium salt :rant:) but may be done with various substituted amines (though this gives a lower yield).
