Fireworks are illegal in Singapore, which is pretty lame (I haven't watched the video because I'm currently posting in class while my students are working in their groups), but we managed to have a pretty awesome barbecue still.
Although it does seem strange to be eating "oriental sausages" and drinking chang and tiger beer on independence day.
I had a random budweiser in my fridge (I definitely didn't buy it--costs too much here) so I drank that. Now if only I owned a wife beater...
Now if only I owned a wife beater...
if you were a real American, you wouldn't just OWN one...you would BE one. Hulk Hogan (http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=GGuhZvO1DKg) is.
p.s. - watch the whole damn thing.

They showed the fireworks here on a local news channel. I swear, it was never fucking ending. They played at least three different "america" songs through entirely, whilst showing fireworks on the screen. Yay for 10-15 minutes of content with no effort greater than sending the camera man to the fireworks show and hitting "play" on the "cheesy patriotic songs" playlist.

hahaha, and after those 15 minutes of fireworks there's a giant cloud of smoke lingering in the sky, right? "Let's blow some shit up and listen to songs about how great we are! What could possibly be more American?"
