Love this show. So much style.

I heard they were going to make a movie a while back. I don't know if that's still happening though. I really wish they would finish the story.

I'm proud to say I've got all four seasons on my hard drive. Fucking amazing show; Tartakovsky's best. The movie is being made by the same company that did the Powerpuff Girls Movie, and they did a pretty good job with that, so I'm curious to see how they're going to end it.

Better not be an anti-climax, like every episode.

I really liked that "Samurai Quack" parody with Daffy Duck (as Duck Dodgers).

Man, I had totally forgotten about this show before this thread. Can you link me to a good torrent? The ones I've found are seedy at best...

I've got some very good Demonoid ones. DVDrips with all the extra features.

But I don't know if we're allowed to post that kind of stuff....

The one I used doesn't seem to be showing up, since I used Google search to find it (search "Samurai Jack torrent"), but I do remember that it was ~9GBs and took for-fucking-ever to download. I can't find it, so I guess you just have to go with one of the seedier ones.

Fuck, I think I ended up downloading some Matroska plug-ins, too. It was still worth it.

Man, I remember this show, I loved it. The best episode was that one with that insanely long bridge. That's the only thing I remember about the episode actually... Eh. still one of the best cartoons I ever saw.

Still watching it, and now I'm sure I've seen every episode.

The best part about the show is that Tartakovsky used so many different animation styles and techniques to create these truly epic feels for each episode. Each episode is different, but the best ones are the ones with the cultural references. Jack fights a giant mech, almost like Gundam or The Big O. He fights Morpheus. He fights alongside Spartans. He fights robots made of adamantium. There's a couple Wild West-style episodes. There's the amazing rave episode, with perhaps the best rave music I've ever heard. Then there's the heavy use of contrasting themes; the modern mech versus the samurai mech, the samurai versus the cowboys, Jack and the Scotsman, the man versus machine, and the best one - Jack, dressed in white, versus the ninja, dressed in black, fighting in an entirely monochromatic building. The only thing that was wrong with the show was that Jack just never went into a time portal, even when he had the chance(s). The movie better conclude this jank once and for all.

There also was the conundrum of how Jack managed to destroy his clothes in almost every episode, then managed to get new robes by the time the next episode rolled around. Funnily enough, this seems to have been parodied in the Jack's Sandals episode, where he spends the entire episode looking for new sandals in a futuristic town. And then there was the Jack is Naked episode, which only further juxtaposes the fact that Tartakovsky was brilliant for all the creativity he put into each and every episode. Let's face it - the man is a fucking genius.

One of my favourites is Jack vs the blind archers. And the one where there are 5 bounty hunters who spend the entire episode making plans to capture Jack and he defeats them all at the very end in 30 seconds. Also, Water-Beetle style, deadliest form of Shaolin .

There are so many great moments and episodes. I really hope they make the movie, just to finish the story properly.

Genndy's next project is about vikings. The art so far looks pretty good.
