So, I checked out this book after many recomendations and hereing so highly of it. Any things I should know before I open it up? Or, maybe just things I should be aware of before I strat to tackle this one.
It's not told in chronological order, so pay attention to detail. Also correct me if I'm wrong but there is no way to make sense of Milo Minderbinders syndicate.
I always figured Colonel Korn was white. =/

Hmmm, does it atleast tell you when things go out of order?
Hardly, you will read a few scenes a couple of times. Sometimes there is just a remark about an incident relating to it but you eventually read it in it's entirety.

Well I guess I better get ready for this one, minding I'm not the best at following complex story lines. Hopefully, it'll as good as everyone says, as I haven't read a good book in a while.

I'm reading it now.
Not in chronological order, but that doesn't matter.
Also, don't go looking for jokes, you'll just read a bit and burst out laughing.

Definitely this^. It didn't matter where I was I just burst out laughing.
Also, at first the non-chronological order messed with my head, and I didn't think I'd get the hang of it and be left in the dust, but just keep reading ahead, and understand each event/piece, then eventually it will all come together. My favorite book of all time, without a doubt.

I'm not far yet, but this book is really good so far. The non-chronological thing really isn't that bad either. God damn this book is funny though, I can't help but laugh every single page of it.

lol i feel like such a loser for not finishing it, I tried sticking it out till page 50 or so, then lost heart and wheeled it back to the library. I think I'm going to give it another shot, because it did have a lot of humour in it.

^ What made you take it back to the library? I'm finding the beginning quite good.

Yeah, pro-tip - don't shoot at mice with your .32, and don't watch the movie. Especially not prior to reading the book.

Someone tried to tell me the other day that they'll never let you own a .303 because the calibre is just excessive for any legitimate use that a civilian might have.
Is this true?
I want a Lee-Enfield.

Nah, someone's cooking you a crockpot full of shit there. You can own one on a normal (Cat A-B) rifle licence, which is relatively easy to get. Unfortunately though I don't think I'll ever 'lowed to own one, which is a shame because like you I'd really like to get one - even if it's only a proper reproduction SMiLEy.

personally i have a love/hate relationship with joseph what's-his-face (i wanna say heller), the guy who wrote it. "Catch 22" makes a great, funny point--like his other book I read, "Something Happened"--but like Something Happened, they both say everything they're going to say within the first 80 pages and then continue on unnecessarily for about 200 pages more. I can't finish his books, when I try, I just get disgustingly bored, but when I start them, I love them....he just says the same fucking things over and over and over and over and over and over and over
