Hey yall
So my whole life Ive always eaten unhealthy stuff, mainly being fast food, which I prolly eat about 3 or 4 times a week if not more...
I think thats pretty much my whole problem but...lol
I work out atleast 3 days a week but aim for 5 days.
cardio a couple times a week running..
but I still have a gut while the rest of my body is pretty cut up lol..
what would be an easier diet to get away with?

You should start counting calories.
It may be tiresome, I know, but if you're diligent with it it will REALLY pay off, and give you an idea of what's going on.
E.g. if you eat a lot of cheese (which isn't what you'd consider "fast food"), you can get a shitload of calories there. Which will not help your case. Etc.
I.. im pretty lean ... 5'7' 180 pounds ..
I'm picturing someone as pretty porky at 5'7", 180 ...
also , since no one ever really gives their true "fat" weight, you're probably more like 184 to 190+).
But, whatever,
like Agent008 mentioned, cut out all cheese to start with.
Cut out all drinks that have calories except milk.
And no, you don't need fruit juice.
No more french fries.
Increase your vegetable intake by at least twice what you presently take in.
Since you ask what to bring to work, try roasted chicken (not fried KFC).
Subway sells some lower calorie sandwich options, I'm assuming your from the USA.

That is fat. On the BMI, you are well above fat. You have gotten a very strong foothold in the "fat" section of the BMI.

The BMI is the most ridiculous system ever created. Don't even think about it. It's utter and complete shit. With that, someone who's a tall skinny fat person is better off than a shorter buff guy. Hell, most pro athletes are obese under it.
But really, saying that you're 5'7" tells us nothing really. If you're average, then you're probably a little chubby. But you could be really broad. Or just muscular.
Just try cutting out all that junk food though. Once you start, you can't go back. It just tastes weird.

You are ony five or so kilograms of obese. My advice
Breakfast: Low fat yoghurt (i.e. the 55kcal per 100ml or lower), have 200 mg of this in the morning with some chopped up fruit or a small amount of muesli.
Lunch: bring a salad, however put cooked vegetables in it like broccoli and green beans and do not go to heavy on the vinegar as it can make you hungrier I find. have some sliced lean meat (i.e. less than 150kcal per 100 grams.
Dinner: Lean meats (chicken, rabbit) or white fish like seabass (ifor cheaper white fish, obviously not deep fat fried or anything) fried in the pan, with the smallest of oil, just enough to keep it sticking and lemon juice with a heap of vegetables (you can buym packs of frozen mixed vegetables, they should be around 50 kcals per 100 grams, thus 200 grams of them is not excessive at all.
If you see here, we have cut out foods like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes, which are pure carbohydrates (which non chubby people need) but you do not, all it provides of worth is fibre, so leave it out. Also I would cut out milk as protein and Calcium should be no problem, the yoghurt should give you a fair bit, it is like concentrated milk, but bacteria have 'stolen' some of your calories from it. Also try to drink 2-4 litres of water a day, as cold as you can bear it, as cold water has to be heated up by your body.
p.s. P R deltoid said fat three times, not twenty, easy mistake :D

I really think the amount of calories expended to heat up water is negligible. The main reason cold water is good is because it's absorbed faster and it helps cool you down when you're hot.

Dont bother counting calories. A calorie is not a calorie - it will have different effects depending on whether its a carb, a protein, or even what kind of fat its coming from.
Eat real food. If it cant be eaten in its natural state (although that being said, cooking is fine), you probably dont want it.
So, eat:
Fruits
Vegetables
Meat (doesnt matter if its lean; organ meats are better, but make sure its been naturally raised, ie grass fed beef etc)
Fish
Eggs
Nuts
And cut out:
Grains
Potatos
Legumes
Pasteurised dairy (and possibly all of it, depending on if your body handles it fine)
Added sugar
Processed junk
Herbs, spices and fruit juice are fine. Use saturated fats for cooking (coconut, palm oils, lard, tallow), use monounsaturated fats for salads (olive, nut oils), and stay away from polyunsaturated fats (soy, canola, peanut, vegetable, etc).

Wouldn't it take longer for cold water to be heated up to body temp than say room temperature water....?

Yes, but that's apparently not the determining characteristic of the body's rate of water absorption.

eat, but not too much, mostly plants. :) Get a good amount of sleep and fallow the food pyramid. Exercise 3 times a week. Jogging, weights, ect... something. Remember to stretch!
