You know, the character in Hamlet who famously advised his son to wear clothing that is "rich but not gaudy, for 'th'apparel oft proclaims the man."

Anyway, I thought it might be fun for those of us who sometimes don gaudy apparel to talk about it.

As a rule, I tend towards casual, unobtrusive clothing--jeans, black reeboks, plain shirts.

Today, however, I am wearing this insane baseball jacket--waist-length, knitted sleeves and collar. But the darn thing is iridescent--it shimmers green to purple, due to the weave. And the back has, in embroidery, "Sams Town Casino and Lounge" and a royal flush.

Amazingly, I sometimes get compliments, and I'm afraid the complimenters are not being sarcastic.

Any other gaudily-garbed folks out there?

lol wut??

Oh I get it, lol Polonius. Crazy Greyfox. Anyway yeah kids these days wear all types of crazy shit. My sweater is yellow, burgendy, red, and black, and the colors are all arranged into little 1.5 or so inch squares, on a white background. I guess it's kind of gaudy.

I have a tshirt from an English soccer team, it's neon yellow and says SAMSUNG on it, sometimes I wear it around, looking like a bee. Also I have white tracksuit bottoms, the ultimate in chav clothing, but I don't mind :)

I'm poor and mean, so I buy my clothing based mainly on price rather than astethics. My favourite item of clothing is a big long rain/trench coat I bought for €220 a few year ago though. Its so warm.

Greyfox, you should get one of those green visors to go with the coat, you'd look like even more like a poker addict then.
