You know, the character in Hamlet who famously advised his son to wear clothing that is "rich but not gaudy, for 'th'apparel oft proclaims the man."
Anyway, I thought it might be fun for those of us who sometimes don gaudy apparel to talk about it.
As a rule, I tend towards casual, unobtrusive clothing--jeans, black reeboks, plain shirts.
Today, however, I am wearing this insane baseball jacket--waist-length, knitted sleeves and collar. But the darn thing is iridescent--it shimmers green to purple, due to the weave. And the back has, in embroidery, "Sams Town Casino and Lounge" and a royal flush.
Amazingly, I sometimes get compliments, and I'm afraid the complimenters are not being sarcastic.
Any other gaudily-garbed folks out there?
