Just seeing wassup? Post says it all.

Using fruity loops, ableton live, a battery (not Battery the program) of VST softsynths/FX etc, stuff in the sig (workstation synth recently took over many of the softsynths' position) and I had a bunch of instruments at home which are no longer with me. What kinds of music do you make (any of you who are at it)?

I use FL Studio with tons of VST's, and I also use Adobe Audition. I make whatever comes to mind at the moment.

I am currently finishing up a 10 min long song. I'll post it when I'm back at home and not at collage.

A lot of experimental stuff so? Do you produce with mouse+keyboard or MIDI controllers?

mouse, keyboard. I'm too broke to afford MIDI controllers. I just use the keyboard as a small controller and go from there.

I started out that way a good while back also, then went through some work, built the setup over some time.
You should really look around though, even on a 100-150$ budget you could improve your workflow by a huge amount. KORG nanoSERIES are fun, but there's better things.

Yea, hopefully by Christmas time I will have enough money to get a decent one.

why type of music do you make?

Well, I started a couple years ago making metal music (death metal, grindcore and doom/drone), then moved along to purely trippy experimental stuff (transition from instruments to electronic, just used mouse+PC keyboard). After that I started getting some more structure in, started using hardware when making beats and moved through to hardstyle/breaks hybrids. At the same time still did a bit of dubstep, then moved that along to darkstep drum n bass. Right now it's abstract drum 'n bassy kind of stuff, a lot of jamming and synth programming. My newest fling is anything ambient/industrial like, just using more synth leads and harder basses than other producers would. Still all of those mix together. A lot of my production work is just creating a workflow and then moving into a jam from just programmed drums, through to house music, garage, then dubstep and then alltogether experimental weird stuff through about 45 minutes.

And then the next step in the evolution is using a lot more string parts/vocals (choirs) and other instruments in compositions blended with most of what's been described above.

And then there's the turntablism, which is a lot of fun but hasn't been put into a lot of my productions yet.
