Questions from a WU noob...

1. What's the upper transfer limit? (if there is one.) I've heard US$3,000.

Is there an upper limit to transfer money with Western Union?

Upper limit for transfer is 3,000 USD or equivalent EURO

2. Can you pick up cash without an ID? I read that you can pick up cash without an ID if the sender sets a special question and answer and you answer it correctly.

Could someone receive money without a valid ID?

To be able to receive money without a valid ID, a test question and an answer have to be set by the sender before making the transaction. If a test question and an answer are not set, the sender must be contacted to set the question. Then you can receive the money by answering to the test question with the right answer at the receiving location.

When I or my 'friends' have to send money to Brazil, whoever of my immediate family who is going to pick up the money has to be IN the city I said it was sent to, show ID that matches the name I wrote who would be picking it up EXACTLY, along with knowing the EXACT amount being sent. No secret password or anything, and this is usually sent through WU in Publix. Sometimes we use Vionaldo Express and it's almost exactly like WU. I live in southern FL on the gold coast, and I don't know why it's like that here. Figured that was typical but I guess it isn't.

For some reason I thought secret questions weren't available in Australia. The website says you can use them only in certain situations and for certain amounts, though, so you should probably phone them.
