Cheap jeans all have that generic, boring look and standard, mediocre fit. For that kind of money, you might get durability and decent materials, but you don't get design. You don't get skilled people putting together the clothes in just the right way to make them look their best. You get semi-skilled people figuring out how to put together a pair of jeans that won't fall apart for a few years. They're not bad, but they're not good. I mean, you don't necessarily need to spend hundreds of bucks on a pair, but I'd rather have a single pair of hundred-dollar jeans than three pairs of cheap jeans, because how they look is just as important as the quality of manufacture.

High-end design is all about aesthetics and unique attention to detail; low-end design is all about utility and keeping costs down.
