So I'm trying to extract the alcohol out of something like vanilla extract or listerine. I have very limited knowledge of chemistry and no equipment at all.
Basically the idea is to have a lightbulb vaporizer with a tube running out the top to something like a home made water bottle bong. the tube would hook onto a hollow crayola marker on the bottle and there's another marker with a baloon on it. the bottle would be in a bucket with ice and cold water. This would all have to be airtight. So I would put the vanilla extract in the lightbulb heat it with a butane lighter. the alcohol would evaporate and condense on the walls of the water bottle, and the baloon would keep pressure down as the gas expands during heating. would that work?
