Japanese Bacon sucks HARD

So, I live in Japan. And the one thing I REALLY miss from back in the states is bacon. Real bacon. Crispy, salty bacon.

Japanese bacon is...wrong. It's limp. It's not salty or smoky tasting. It's basically lunchmeat, but not even that good. In fact, you don't need to cook it (http://www.blogd.com/archives/001130.html), because the way it's cured basically turns it into bland cold cuts.

This is a bacon appreciation thread.

I've grown dissenchanted with aussie bacon, and have just begun making my own, meaning i can slice it as damn thick as i want it for a change.

Really.

Become the only importer of quality bacon products into Japan. Start as a small store, then when you've made enough capital, branch out into more stores. The final goal should be to have other stores carry the bacon that you provide them.

Eventually you could get some land and a manufacturing plant and make your own quality bacon and no longer have to import from america. The possibilities are endless.
