A guy at work was telling me if you get gooey gear, that its possible to remove the glucose by mixing the product with methylated spirits, and either burning it off or letting it evaporate leaving behind a more pure end product. (even though there is obviously much less)
Is this true?

Cool. So you live under a rock.
For the OP:
Gooey is not worth much more than a quick & dirty ride, I've never even thought about trying to purify it and neither should you. Don't waste your time. It's pretty shit anyway, though it is outrageously cheap.

No, you'll just get back exactly what you started with. Ask him to explain in more detail then come back and ask again, maybe he left out a step or you forgot something. There are ways of purifying amphetamine but they're not this simple and depend on what's in it.
Also ignoring mechanical loss, by nature of purification you will always end up with less than you started with.

An A/B is probably your best bet. But if it's cut to the point of being "gooey" then it probably isn't worth the trouble. Buy better/purer drugs next time.

Freebase into non polar of choice, then gas it out into the hydrochloride salt?
You'd want to be working with grams of the stuff though, not a gram of 10% pure speed, your mechanical losses, the price of the solvents and the effort involve would probably be too high to justify 75 - 100mg of pure amp.
Buy in bulk for cheap, or acquire better stuff to start with :)

Good idea BUT the speed we are talking about is it amphetamine or methamphetamine? If methamphetamine then VB idea is fine, otherwise if its amphetamine make the sulfate salt (much easier). The hydrochloric salt is a bitch to make because it is very hygroscopic. Make the sulfate by mixing isopropanol:Sulfuric acid and dripping it into the freebase into your solvent of choice.
Roooooooooooooooooooooot!

Amphetamine hcl being what started gooey amphetamine in the first place.:p

recrystalize it. its the impurities that may have lowered the melting point even more, and then put in desicator to dry it it cant hurt, so id try it

no, i just hate tweakers, and i stay away from them. So i dont really know much about speed.

The quoted statement is never true! :p
If...
remove the glucose by mixing the product with methylated spirits
...your impurity is known, try anhydrous boiling isopropanol and a coffee filter. ;) Most simple sugars are good like that...
If you even let it cool, let alone evaporate, you'll be back to tiny shards in cellulose/lactose/glucose crystals...

there are many ways to clean it up,I think the point that needs to be pointed out is that if you dont know how to clean it up,how are you able to determine just exactly what is making it gooey.it may not be sugar it may be a chemical reaction caused by a cutting agent.if you want to know how to clean it up properly you need to do alot of reading.
peace out swihpj

Get some M.E.K. and start from scratch:thumbsup:. If you don't got access to chems then freebase it and bring it back. It bases and most people don't know that, but by doing it you will loose that sticky gooey shit feeling about it with a little lose. Hey it works though.
