I looked around and didn't really see anything like this, so i figured it would be sort of cool to see what the rest of zoklet browses/games/communicates on. post your hardware specs, what you like about it, what you don't like, or anything else remotely relevant!

My laptop is a little older, but it's served me well and still works well for everything i need it to do.

Model - HP Pavilion 7030us
Graphics - Geforce FX Go5600 with 128mb dedicated memory
Processor - Intel Pentium 4 3.06 dual core
RAM - 2 gigs

And that's really everything i can think of at the moment. The processor is phenomenal, with one problem : it runs incredibly hot. I've literally ruined the first heat sink that it came with and had to order a replacement. At the moment, i've got the cover taken off the back to expose the heat sink, and have a cooling pad that sits under the laptop to keep a fresh flow of cool air getting in there.

Performance wise it does everything i need it to do, doesn't really have a problem running games like guild wars or multitasking several programs at once like aim, firefox, frostwire/bittorrent, and others. All in all it was a great laptop for the $600 i paid for it 2 years ago, but once this summer roles around i think it'll be time to upgrade.

So, zoklet, what do you use?

Sorry, it's been done already quite recently. I wouldn't lock this if it had been done a few months ago, but unfortunately it has.

A fast P4 chip in a laptop will run hot because it's physically impossible to squish a big enough heatsink in there. My brother has a T41 Thinkpad with a 2ghz P4, and that runs at about 70C even with Artic Silver on the heatsink...which is clean as a nun's arse.

I use a bunch of stuff that nobody cares about.
