Right, I just finished 10 pages of work and im coming here to escape all the Silverfuck shizzle. Lets see if people respect others here. I spent alot of time making this thread nicely laid out and linked. Im sorry for grammatical mistakes, please point them out, but try to balance it with something posistive. ;) I tried to sprinkle smilies, bold and italic text throughout the post so it wasn't blocks of plain writing.

Here are some of my favourite trilogys/series, I hope some of you have read these:

The Tom Kirk Books
Wub Level:  x 4
Author: James Twining (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Twining) - His Website (http://www.jamestwining.com/)
Overview:
Amazingly, these books dont seem to be that well known. The first book, and others follow the story of a Ex CIA Espionage agent :ninja: ( Tom Kirk ) who has become a Professional Art Thief ( Known as Felix ). The story(s) revolve around him, his fence ( Archie ) the FIB and a Criminal Mastermind known only as Cassius ( whos existence is ignored by many as they refuse to belief one man can control the art world ). The books are very accurate in terms of tools used for thefts and hold a very realistic feeling.

Im sure zoklets community would enjoy such a series as these. They are really nice to read and I found it hard to put the books down. The books suit me well, as I really enjoy crime novels.
:p

The Black Magician Trilogy
Wub Level:  x 5
Author: Trudi Canavan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trudi_Canavan) - More Infomation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Magician_trilogy) - Her Website (http://www.trudicanavan.com/index.php)
Overview:
I say one of the best fantasy trilogy out there. These books mostly feature in a fictional city in a fictional land, where magic is studied ( and well thought out ). The city is controlled by the Magicians guild, and the outer layers of the city are Slums :(, where the main character comes from. The story starts when Sonea, the main chick throughs a stone which ( ) breaks through one of the magicians barriers. She goes on run, seeks protection from the criminal underworld blah blah read the book.

This was the first of the trilogys I read. I annoyingly had to wait weeks before getting the other two books, which I powered through. I can read for many hours at once with ease, I remember these last two books blending into a single story.

Age of the Five
Wub Level:  x 3
Author: Trudi Canavan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trudi_Canavan) - More Infomation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_Five) - Her Website (http://www.trudicanavan.com/index.php)
Overview:
I do debate whenether its good as the above trilogy. Gods exist in this world, who show them selfs in forms created from light. 5 Gods lead 5 "Whites". There are many other fictional races in this series which really add a interesting element to the story. Magic is called "Gifts" and the main character begins on a journey to discover all kinds of interesting shizzle, such as "Wilds" Powerful lonesome magicians who rival the whites strength.

My brother read the first book of this and didnt enjoy it, maybe he didnt understand the genius of the book, or I missed the failure of it. I didnt understand how someone who was into fantasy could ignore such a series books! Come on zoklet, anyone else read these?

The Power of Five
Wub Level:  x 4
Author: Anthony Horowitz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Horowitz) - More Infomation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_Five) - His Website (http://www.anthonyhorowitz.com/)
Overview:
Im sure many of you have heard of or seen these books. They follow earth in the early 21st century... 5 teenagers slowly become aware of powers, and are connected via a dream world while they sleep. Little known to others are the "Old ones":sweatdrop: and evil army which were locked in limbo via the "same" children 10,000 years ago. Im sure im making it sound "gay", but damn the books are good.

The books are a re-write of a old series of AH's - I haven't read them, but according to many, the re-writes are much much better. Its just a shame that he claimed it could take years to write the final book!

Stravaganza
Wub Level:  x 3
Author: Mary Hoffman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Hoffman) - More Infomation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stravaganza_%28series%29) - Her Website (http://www.maryhoffman.co.uk/)
Overview:
These 4 books ( another one in the making ) are very unique in many ways. I have only read the first one "City of Masks". The books generally follows a boy with terminal cancer, who finds a notebook which transforms him into a alternate universe in Renaissance italy ( called Talia ). There magic is science, and science is magic, a cellphone to a magician is magic. The world holds differences as rome is called Romus. He meets a princess ( uhh typical ) and a well developed story follows.

Neverwhere
Wub Level:  x 4
Author: Neil Gaiman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Gaiman) - Neverwhere (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverwhere) - His Website (http://www.neilgaiman.com/) - Film (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115288/)
Overview:
This is such an awesome book I cant even give you an overview, so I must quote from wiki:
Richard Mayhew, a Scot living in London, encounters an injured girl named Door on the street one night. Despite his fiancée's protests he decides to help her, but that unfortunately also means that he suddenly ceases to exist for regular people and becomes real only to the denizens of 'London Below', whose inhabitants are generally invisible and non-existent to the people of 'London Above'. He loses his house, his job and nearly his mind as he travels London Below in an attempt to make sense out of it all, find a way back, and helps Door survive as she is hunted down by hired assassins.

In London Below the various familiar names of London all take on a new significance: for example Knightsbridge becomes "Night's Bridge", a stone bridge whose darkness takes its toll in human life; The Angel, Islington is an actual angel. London Below is a parallel world in and beneath the sewers. Its inhabitants are the homeless, but also people from other times, such as Roman legionaries and medieval monks, as well as fictional and fantastical characters.

God damn, wiki writes much better overviews than I do :D. Its wrote by the same person who wrote Stardust (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stardust_%28novel%29).... I think another film is coming out.

Well that ends only a few of my favourite books, please comment, tell me yours, dont let my effort go to waste :)

Great book and i agree with the 5 rating, do not understand how it can be hard to understand. The new one is out or rather what looks to be glorified fan fiction by Eoin Colfer :hrmph: I shall judge it once i have read it..

My favourites:

1. Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. There's currently about 16 books, and I'm totally addicted. Absolutely love Jean-Claude, the main vampire. Nothing to do with his actual being a vampire - just how charming and elegant he is.

2. The Mediator series. Ghosts, girl who speaks to ghosts while trying to live a normal teenage life.

3. The Chronicles Of Narnia. Hate the movies, love the books.

4. Dexter. Psychopathic serial killer  adoration - I love serial killers, they can be really quite interesting to look into

5. American Psycho. Same reason as the Dexter series  he's just totally out of it.

Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy is amazing too :D

I seem to remember he spent at least an entire chapter remaking his sword.

Meh, Eragon wasn't bad. I'm rather anxious for the last book to come out so we can be done with it already.
