1. Steal someone's pet
2. Wait for fliers to be posted offering a reward for the pet
3. Profit!!
4. If no fliers are posted return the pet to the owner, or leave it somewhere.
By all means if you even consider this, you have no soul.
I'm posting strictly for thought provoking purposes =D.

I saw a $500 reward flier today for some over-sized rat, or "dog" as the family would call it.

Acualy then yeah thats pretty good. Just do it with small pets so it's easy. [In rich neighborhoods]

2. Wait for fliers to be posted offering a reward for the pet
A better scam is to just go around collecting any and all pet fliers, then calling the family and asking the following:
"Hello, is this []? Did you lose a [[insert class of lost animal]]?"
--if yes to both, follow with:
"IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE [[insert pet's name]] AGAIN, LEAVE TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS IN UNMARKED BILLS AT [[insert location]]--AND NO FUNNY BUSINESS! IF I SEE A COP, THE [[dog/cat/gerbil]] IS [I]DEEEEAAAAAADDD."

Somebody stole a friend of mine's dog. It was bad news for them.
If you do this, be careful who the dog's owners are.

Set up a trap, not that hard you guys. Stalk those animals, learn their schedule and set a trap for the ones who seem the easiest to grab. Put up a sign in the general vicinity. "Dog Found, Reward Appreciated"
Profit.

I agree this sounds like a pretty fool proof plan.

I support this. Its all about location, location, location!
Target rich or upper class community's. Small papered dogs. Look for people who walk there dogs and follow them home, scope out the back yards. See if you town has a dog park, or city park. More time you put in it, the more you maximize your profit. Just don't hurt the dog.

Beware about the pounds, a lot of them actually want to see the animal again after a while, to make sure it was a right choice. Or if you want them to take it away. Or if they NEED to take it away. [[Watch Animal Planet]]
A lot of pounds aren't AS crappy as they usually sound.. XD And actually check up with you. If not in person, at least by a call.

If and when I go on unpaid vacation (laid off) again, I'm definitely going to consider this. All you have to do is chill with a dog for a day or so for a couple hundred bucks? Sounds pretty cool to me.
