Is there somewhere I can sell books to?

I have a shitload of books that I've already read/too many times.. I know there's book exchange type of places, but to they actually give you money for selling them books, or just some store credit bullshit?

And possibly CD's and DVD's? Pawnshops don't take that shit, or they give you hardly anything for it.

My friend used to work for a company which dealt with sending books and manuals out to people, and they had all these returned books, which were worth a couple hundred pounds each, so they grabbed a bunch of them and sold them on Amazon for way less than they should be, and have made a whole bunch of money
