I bought a hard drive dock today to test out my external harddrive which fell off the table and broke. My harddrives fucked so now this docks useless. I asked about refunds and they told me I could only get a refund if I don't open the box and they put a bit of tape on the top end. I skillfully opened the bottom end of the box without crinkling the cardboard, I gently removed everything from their bags without ripping them and there was only 1 bag which was sealed so I tore it in a way I can reseal it myself with the iron.

Anyhow I was wondering if theres any good reason for me keeping this thing. Are harddrives useful? Are there any things I can do with this I couldn't do with an installed or external harddrive?

I'd keep it. They're useful if you want to recover stuff of a hard drive pulled from a computer - it saves the time and effort of turning off your computer, opening it up etc.

Yeah those things are useful, it's not wasted money trust me. It's a pain in the ass to hook up an internal hard drive just to see if it works
