As you all may know Halloween is coming up and i need a relatively simple smoke bomb making technique
I barely have any chemicals
i have about 40 grams of CuSO4 and magnesium and aluminum at my disposal
any help would be greatly appreciated

well the obvious and most used mixture is potassium nitrate and sugar mixed, which is pretty easy to get. It's sold as stump remover at gardening stores.
An alternative method is to buy like 200 ping pong balls, crush them up, put them in an aluminium package, and light it. If you crush them up well enough and have a good amount, you can get a pretty good smoke screen, just don't inhale it.

Unfortunately stump remover isn't sold where i live because i live in backwards new york
i have done the ping-pong ball method b4 its okay i guess .
ill probably filter the KNO3 from the sparklers in my garage

I've tried that, it doesn't work too well unless you have a shit-ton of sparklers, you would be surprised how little powder comes off of one sparkler

Why don't you stop being fucking lazy and scroll the fuck down on the main page.

Try a hydro store.

Well, as to the OP's initial query, sulfate compounds tend to make really shitty oxidizers (though they do work). So, first you'd have to dry the CuSO4 (I'm pretty sure you have a hydrate, as anhydrous CuSO4 is not found anywhere but in labs). So, once it got dried and ground up, then Mg or Al ought to work, but you might need a blowtorch to light it. Alternatively, trisodium phosphate (ask at a HW/paint store) once dehydrated (it also comes standard as a hydrate), also makes for a shitty oxidizer (might work a bit better than the sulfate) Although adding metal to Na3PO4 and burning it will probably synth elemental phosphorous, which will probably burn and make toxic phosphorous oxides. So, it might be a bit of a chemical weapon.

If you do manage to get your hands on traditional smoke mix (KNO3) then be careful when melting it together. I have had many a batch ignite because it wasn't being stirred fast enough, or was heated too much. And while this smoke mix burns slowly at RT, when it's hot and molten it tends to go rather violently.

2nd thread from the top is Halloween pyrotechnics...

You can't really do much with what you have... and you wouldn't want to waste aluminum or magnesium for smoke... Trying to dissolve a bit of the copper sulfate in denatured alcohol or methanol might get you a green flame, but that would depend on the purity of your copper sulfate.

Get more chemicals... Or there really isn't much else you can do... perhaps write a note to yourself on your calendar to go buy smokebombs before next Halloween.

Alternately... Dry ice in water... or smoke/fog machine...

There are loads of vids on youtube related to 'smoke generation'... how to make them, what to use, where to get chems... give it a try, might help. ;)

You can buy potassium nitrate on the internets.

If im not mistaken most sparklers generally use KClO4 or KClO3 not KNO3. I could be wrong so if anyone wants to say otherwise go ahead. But if you were planning on going about it that way I could see just using the whole sparkler powder mixed with sugar and getting it to work decently. As far as the person that said CuSO4 and his Mg or Al that should burn but id imagine it wouldn't be to good for a smoke mix. I've used CuSO4/Al/KNO3 mix to produce a mixture that produced green fire but didn't smoke to well at all.

Who the fuck could this possibly be?
