so i've got mild asthma. it comes up when i do any real cardio, running jogging or whatever. i could deal with it if it went away when i stopped, but it seems to linger for the rest of the day.
how am i supposed to get in shape when i can't run or anything? the upper half of my body looks pretty good, lifting doesn't trigger it, but i don't know how i'm supposed to work my legs when it comes at the cost of breathing.

You can do endurance exercises. Maybe do 30 minutes of slow jogging instead of 5 minute sprints.

Upper body cardio to burn fat all over your body, as well as leg presses, and weighted squats.

I don't suggest leg extentions because it is a very dangerous movement but the rest of the list will definitely put some fucking meat on your legs

It puts a shitload of unnecessary pressure on your knees. Unless you're moving an entire rack (or have bad knees) I wouldn't worry though. It's a very popular exercise and if it were that bad it wouldn't be in every gym across the nation.

Try bicycling, don't push yourself too hard and instead go for a steady pace on a longer distance. It's mild on your joints and if you're like me, the fresh air is nice. Granted, this time of year it's a bit cold/icy for me to do much cycling.

Get an inhaler, wait 20 minutes after you take until you do any proper excercise.

I too dealt with Asthma until I was in my mid teens (I'm now 19) At age 13 I began smoking a good deal of pot, which made it worse, Until I was age 16 I began smoking a good deal of cigarettes on-top of pot, Mind you I've always done cardio (walking biking ddr swimming etc) although I was still in terrible shape, At age 17 I began running (Asthma became a thing of the past after i started smoking cigs) Just balls to the wall, it may hurt but keep going and you'll be fine, Mind over matter just keep running and your asthma will become nothing.
p.s I have massive calf muscles that could crush a cattles skull

Fail. There is no cure for asthma you idiot. I have asthma too my doctor gives me a powdered steroidal puffer called Symbicort or "advair". It works all day the blue ventolin puffers are for emergencies only
