RTS's don't belong on consoles.

Not just that, but the bases are predetermined. It's exactly like LOTR:BFME.

Played that game on the PC, and it still sucked (But LOTR:BFME2:ROTWK was fucking fantastic)

I played it for a couple of minute yesterday, i fucking hate games like this.
Although this seemed semi O.K.
I wouldn't pay for it tho, just wait for Halo ODST to come out, that should be the shit!

yep looks like a generic strategy game, though the graphic effects look quite impressive. but consoles and RTS's dont really mix. will download it if it comes on PC though

I tried it yesterday and wasn't overly impressed.

I'm not much into RTS games, but I hate when you have to build bases attached. Why can't I lodge a few turrets to the northeast of my base, if I'm at the southwest? Only only one per corner?

Exactly, it takes away one of the main tactical pieces of the RTS genre.

RTS should only be done on PC. After Endwar, its just a fact that's proven time and time again consoles don't have the options.

At least Endwar had voice control so lacking a mouse wasn't an issue.

This game doesn't even let you try to only select a few units, it puts out a big circle that expands on its own.... making it very hard to only select a couple of specific units, unless you select the ones you want separately to move and then select both.

Yeah, I gotta say, the Halo franchise was quite a disappointment. I came to the series late, and started with Halo 3. It's all right, but can't match up to the hype, or the reviews.

Halo Wars is certainly not on my list for the time being. There are far better-looking games on the horizon to get excited even in the slightest.

Why would you start on the third one?

I agree that it is definitely over-hyped, but the story line wouldn't even make sense if you didn't play the first two.

Would you jump into a movie in the third installment? It makes more sense to play in order!

He still didn't miss much. The three games were fine for the first few times you played through the campaign, but they got boring real quickly.

However, a LAN party on Blood Gulch was the exception to this.

I almost never replay games because I remember the entire thing, almost down to the exact dialogue of cut scenes. It feels too repetitive because of this.

I rarely place replay value into my comments on games due to this.

Didn't even play Halo 3 singleplayer. Only screwed around on a couple levels in coop in 2. Hate that kind of campaign, it's boring unless you're screwing around (Scarab Gun, Soccer Ball)

I really enjoyed Halo 1 with RL friends, and tunneling to play basic online. Halo 2 was good because it gave built in Live support. Halo 3 was basically just 2 with a few items.

The shit it gets is ridiculous, considering how many people still follow the mediocre 20th releases from Nintendo

I enjoy the halo trilogy as what it is a generic shooter that has co-op single player which in all honesty is the deal breaker. But also because i remember christmas day about 4/5 years ago and getting an xbox + halo

Halo 1, 2, and 3 are basically the same game. I guess the story evolves and whatever, but I felt like I was playing the same levels and fighting the same enemies over and over again for three games.

Basically, I only picked up Halo 3 when I got a 360. I didn't have the original xbox because I didn't think the games library was as good as the PS2's. I didn't much fancy Halo 1 or 2 for PC either.

I agree, though, it is pretty odd picking up the series from the third installment.

suggest you read up on the plot. actually, just the plot of H2. the first one has sort of a detached story, but it introduces important characters

There isn't a Nintendo made title from any of Nintendo's franchises that doesn't absolutely shame Halo as a game. In their current releases, Zelda, Mario, and Metroid make Halo look like recycled garbage.

It deserves all the shit it gets because it's the only counter-balance to all the frothing fanboys who think it's some kind of revolutionary game and champion it as such, which it never was, not even on the day it came out. The only trails you could actually make a case for it blazing are in the realm of console online multiplayer, and that's a bit like being the best player in minor league baseball.

Halo is not a terrible game, it's just painfully mediocre.

A quick search with Google reveals that it's close, but Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 5: 8-bit is Enough ( http://www.listafterlist.com/tabid/57/listid/16159/Fun++Games/Top+50+Longest+Video+Game+Names+Ever.aspx) is one of the longest.

Of course, you never know with those Japanese.

I was actually meaning an actual software release, not an online flash game.

I played the Demo the other day.
I must say i kinda like it, the only part of base construction i hate is the limit on turrets. There is also the troop count limit. 40, and you can not do anything to raise it.
Overall shallow, but controls really well for being on the xbox.
I might buy it for the simple fact that i tend to love RTS games, and its one that actually controls well on the xbox, although nothing can beat the PC RTS market.

I assumed it was flash because most of the site is, unless I'm mistaken.

A site that hosts it wants me to download flash player as well..
