I half want to do this.

http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/navy/jobs/Chaplain/JobDetails/

66k a year, plus a service allowance of 10k a year, just for reading the odd extract from a book and doing a good deed now and again, or whatever the fuck you would have to do. Plus you get access to all the Navy facilities and whatnot. Anyway, it seems like a pretty cushy job and I can't imagine that religiousness would be abnormally prevalent in the Navy. I'm not religious, and it'd be living a lie, but I have no objection to that... :)

Only drawback is you need to have at least 2 years of pastoral experience.

What do you think?

I bet the more you look into it, you'll probably have to get a divinity degree of some sort.

do you have an annoyingly soft voice and the ability to tell long pointless stories that go nowhere in front of a lot of people?

I can do the soft voice thing if I try... But I'm not very good at talking for long periods of time. :o

Can anyone in the military tell me specifically what the daily routine of a chaplain entails?

Fucking young boys at 3rd world seaports, when you're not getting gangpounded by a bunch of rambunctious sailors.
