Moderated by me. I actually know what I'm talking about in the hand to hand area. If someone with some gun and knife knowledge co moderated it, that would be good too. That is all.

I dont think its a popular enough subject that deserves its own forum. Plus other forums like the self improvement/re-invent yourself seem to be doing a good enough job anyway.
Personally, i think some of the forums need to modified or combined instead because they are virtually dead and barely get any posts. Yours should be modified with an existing one IMO.

its an awesome idea and i completely support it. das troll almost killed me once teaching me martial arts  needless to say i was being a drunken pansy but i learned some things :o
i would be really interested in a forum like this

i would say make it a sub forum but it wouldn't fit justly under either of those three...
also, das troll is very experienced as he is a trainer, i don't know anyone else on zoklet who trains mma. he'd be perfect to mod a section of our forum like that.
if i wanted to ask questions somewhere or was looking for techniques to try or tips for training i have no fucking clue where i'd look right now

Thanks kink. I'm making my opinion based on old totse. The Weapons and Combat forum was one of the largest and busiest on the entire board.

11-23-2009, 03:24 PM
i don't remember what totse was like, i didn't post much on it.
i suppose if you're trying to recreate it in totse's image like the rest of the forums it would make a good sub or sister forum of the right to bear arms... i don't know, maybe not since a lot of what you're talking about wouldn't involve weapons at all but hand to hand combat
either way its a great idea. i am not interested at all in the right to bear arms. maybe if i had a gun or knives; but i don't. i am extremely interested in training techniques though. i can't imagine i'm the only one with all the UFC craze that's been going on the past 5 years

I'd love a forum where I could talk about BJJ, kickboxing, training methods, drills etc. RTBA or whatever used to cover both but in reality it was just full of fucking gun threads. Boring.
It'd be nice to have a forum where unarmed combat could be discussed, whether it be MMA events or the actual practice of it.

you can still post unarmed combat threads in RTBA. the title can be a bit misleading, but if its the equivalent of W&C back on totse, there shouldnt be a problem with posting there

How many years have you been training? Ever moderated a forum before?
These kinds of threads go in Right to Bear Arms anyway, just like they always went in w&c on totse. Perhaps a subforum of RTBA would be nice but I don't see a desperate need for it

Well I modded DIY and reinvent yourself on totse.
9 years of Mauy Thai
4 years of BJJ
And a smattering of other arts that compliment me going into MMA about 4 years go. I just recently went pro. Will anyone believe that? I doubt it, but it's true.

You'd have my support if the forum was made. I can't say I enjoy threads where someone says "omg I have a fight with someone give me tips" but certainly like discussing combat. I think these threads fit into RTBA but the current title makes it seem more about firearms.

we allready have a weapons and combat nobody has made any serious non retarded threads about it though i guess if its more hand to hand it could fit better into carved out of wood though.

Yep.
As a W&C regular, I assure you W&C = RTBA.
I'm certain Das Troll knows exactly what he's talking about and he would be a welcomed addition to RTBA.
But, the last thing we need is 13 year olds wanting to know about the touch of death and how to beat up the bully during recess.

I can at least see where this idea is coming from...
I recently started a post about hand-to-hand fighting in Right to Bear Arms...
Some of the responses I got:
"Oh wow you came to the right place... with a gun!"
"Bad Ideas because fighting someone who's clearly stronger than you without a gun is a bad idea."
"Well, then get a restraining order or report him to the police. "
"The mixed beverages of master Molotov will guide your way"
And umm, this...
"I know this isn't what you want to hear, but please consider it anyway. If you perceive the guy as your enemy, you can correct this condition simply by forgiving him. Stop seeing him as a villain, but ismply someone who ses the world differently from you. If he is as big an asshole as you imply, his misdeeds will catch up with him sooner or later, anyway.
Just think--right now, you are more or less anxious, maybe even fearful--obviously not a happy place to be. Forgive the guy, and you will have peace of mind. Verily is it written, living well is the best revenge. And forgiveness--including forgiving yourself--is one of the most powerful tools we have to attain peace of mind, and a good life."
I haven't been here a long time, but of course I used totse back in the day:D.
Some of the forums just need to be redefined for the better IMHO.

Incorrect.
RTBA is a technical forum where people with experience in firearms/martial arts comes to discuss tactics, techniques, and gear.
Not a forum where people start threads asking how to beat someone in a fight.
How can someone asking for fighting advice on the internet be taken seriously?
If you don't have previous experience with martial arts or fighting techniques, the internet isn't going to help you much.

And, you got you answers in that thread.
De-escalate the situation or beat his ass.
People on the internet can't give you advice on your own personal situation and, if you don't know how to hurt somebody you have no business even considering a fight.
If you can't beat him hand to hand, beat his ass with a baseball bat or something.
Losing will only make whatever situation you are in worse.
But, as stated, if you can't beat him hand to hand to begin with, you aren't going to learn any magical techniques on the internet.
Yet you made a post thinking you could.
Truthfully though, I can relate to that.
I used to be 13 too.
