When someone posts an "I'm leaving zoklet" thread, how about banning the account for 60-90 days. Then if they choose to come back, make them announce their return in the introductions forum.
Then we won't have people announce their leaveing zoklet, only to see them posting 2 weeks later like nothings happened.

Attention seeking whores if they come back.
If not...

How about we ban people who make stupid suggestions? I don't even know why we have this forum, its not like Zok is going to implement these ideas, and I've seen better ideas come from my magic 8 ball.

These threads are in fact being read and considered seriously. Never fear, SAS. Things will get done. Have faith, and ye shall receive ten-fold.

I want my own forum where I'm the only one who can post or read.

This is an excellent idea and it gets the utterly worthless GWF seal of approval. :thumbsup:

Back on Totse, earlier period, if somebody made a Goodbye Thread but then didn't leave, they got banned. This was an accepted and expected way of life. The concept was, if the user didn't get banned, they were being allowed and encouraged to be an attention-whore, which was just too sickening to stomach for most back then. Of course, if the user left cleanly, but decided to come back later on, that was fine. Users like Blunderful wouldn't have lasted more than a single Goodbye Thread, and he would have been IP-banned.

Not even 60-90 days. I'd just perma-ban their asses. If they're too good for us, they can stay away.

I hope this will be done for real...this time...

I don't recall this, and can think of at least one user that never happened to. Infrared.

People that announce they're "leaving" on internet forums should be perma banned.

But thats just my opinion.

Meh, I kind of thought this was dumb at first but when I stopped an thought about it I said to myself;

"Self, have you ever posted a goodbye thread in a forum?"

And I replied;

"Nope, not ever, if I ever got sick of someplace I just left without a word, just like IRL"

So yeah a ban would not be a bad idea in this case. Maybe more than 90 days though. Like 6 months perhaps. It would certainly make some people think twice before they grandstanded on their way out the door.

This should apply to "I'm going to commit suicide" thread aswell.

How bout a subform to complement introductions, called farewells

I didnt post a goodbye thread, just a see you later thread. Still probably equally as gay.

Farewell threads are too stupid to justify a sub forum. If a poster was worth anything to the community in the first place, others will notice they have left.

consider never having to click on that subform, and all the threads in it, getting zero replies. Would you like that? When people found out that no one gives a shit anymore?

People always flock to those kind of threads no matter who made them to flame and say their final "Fuck off and never come back"

I know I would.

Seriously though, goodbye threads are fucking stupid. Nobody gives a fuck if youre leaving, and if they did, they would say something after youre gone, or will notice when you start posting again. No need to throw them a fucking farewell party or lay down the red carpet when they come back.
