Picked up a second job today, at a Vw/Audi/Porsche/BMW shop owned by one of the guys I used to work with at the other Euro shop. Hell, I don't even know what the wage is, if there is one. I've got four bays to work on my car in and can work on and learn on damn good cars. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

That's pretty cool. I know you're really into the whole BMW scene, so it sounds like a good job for you.

Cool, dude. I'm still looking after I was fired from my last mechanic trainee job. The job market sucks right now.

Oh, and 4 bays? You spoiled cock.

Haha I used to work with the owner back when i was 14-15 and working as an apprentice, until the old boss turned into a dick and we all quit or got fired ( I quit). But yeah, should be fun. Now I get to balance two jobs, tkd tournaments, and 21 credits worth of classes. Go me.

I just got a job in at Ernie's Autobody 5 minutes from my house, first day today. Sanded a bunch of after market bumpers, kind of sucked. But I can work on my car there, and possibly un-total it and make it pass inspection by the end of next month.

Right now the hood is buckled, radiator de-mounted, headlight smashed, tailpipe ripped off, no grille, and some part of the bumper is falling apart.

So far I've ordered a used headlight.
Next up- Exhaust, hood, radiator mount, then maybe the grille/bumper crap.

Yeah, I've posted this all in other threads, but here it is relavant!

I work at a Ducati dealership. Dealing with the dentists and lawyers who ride them kinda gives me the shits, 3/4 of them don't even know what the fuck desmodromic valve actuation actually entails. Wankers.

Still, it's easy, fun and good cash. Win.

I lost my job as a filter-spinner and now I work part-time as an audio typist from home. I'm also now a landlord which is the easiest job in the world - basically you inherit a house from a dead relative that you never really knew anyway, and then every month you get more money in the bank. I spend most of my days lazing about with my girlfriend, customising my huge collection of bicycles or smoking my own bacon and selling it.

I'm still planning to get on the vehicle design course at coventry in september, but I'm not sure if I'll get in.

smoking my own bacon

You saw that thread too.

Yep. Made a few of batches already, gave one as a birthday present, sold another to my girlfriends flat mates. Those were the smoked ones, I have a some curing in the fridge following zummerzets recipe but instead of staying pink when you cook it, it goes white. Not sure what's going on with that, but it tastes good.

Is it really nice?

Yes. It's incredibly nice. I coated mine in golden syrup and put it in a very very low oven for 3 hours before I carved it up, it's really fucking nice.

I also just made some cornish pasties from scratch (including the pastry) and they're fucking good. I should be a chef.
