As the title states, what was the last (Few?) thing(s) you have made/half-assed together?
Last thing I did was attach a piece of plexi-glass to the tilt/stand of a broken LCD monitor, then attached a P4 motherboard to it. Tis' now sitting on my desk, acting as a test/linux machine.

Made lots of little thins like power testers for PSUs. Love taking stuff apart and re purposing the parts. Although my DIY might not be hitting many huge projects, I am always tweaking the things I have

Reminds me, I need to make one of those PSU testers on your website. At school I had to hook up and test 30+ of them, and about 1/3 were dead.

I haven't made anything at uni yet as right now I don't have the time, and there's better things to do. Like drunkeness.
Anyway, the last thing I made was a pair of Gainclone monoblock amps with snubberised power supplies. Nice and cheap, with a good amount of power and transparency for a simple chip-amp.
My current DIY "project" is a faulty Citronic PA amp for a friend's band, which just quit working in the middle of a gig. Always bring a backup amp! It's got a triac on the output to crowbar the thing when it kicks out too much DC. I tested the triac and it was faulty, so I replaced it...and it blew again. I'm thinking one transistor blew and the waterfall effect took out the rest. The fan's thermostat is meant to close at 60C, but it seems intermittent so my guess is that the 'stat didn't click on, the heatsink overheated, the weakest transistor blew, the rest of the output devices blew to the strain and then the triac crowbarred the output to prevent the speakers from smokin'.

This is good. Computer power supplies are dead handy.
However, if it's a cheaper unit, make sure you put a load resistor across the 5v line. Switching power supplies can go into runaway without a load and blow up their regulation circuit.

The PSU cover is off so I can drill holes through the bottom for securing to the bottom of the briefcase. It will be reinstalled later.
After cutting the DVD/HD cage, the lid will close.
I need to cut holes in the sides for socket access (ps/2 , USB, power cord) etc.
It's pretty simple to do.
Along the lines of the guy who made a computer in his desk drawer.
Yeah, I know it's a ghetto laptop, but I need to use up some of my extra computer parts someway.

Of course.
and yes, I know it looks like the ideal lifestyle, but on the down side, it makes posting timely responses on zoklet tough, as I have to happen upon a wifi hot spot for internet access.

Made a cupholder for my bike out of a water bottle and zip ties.
Modified a green laser from ebay and subsequently damaged it.
Modified my xbox 360 cable to be a VGA cable, not quite complete it's ugly as hell.
A few years ago I took a usb game controller and arcade buttons and joystick, did some soldering and mapped it all to the point of the board of the controller and threw it in a box for a mamecade. It all works, though I have been meaning to build a smaller, better looking (as in not 3/4" MDF scraps) box for it for ages.
Made a few led flashlights.
And a whole lot of shit I can't remember.

A cold frame to grow plants in. Used 2x2, only had 2" screws and made it up as I went along, measuring by sight and feel. Told myself -again- to draw a rough plan and make the thing down to the mil, but it turned right in the end.

Um... The last real project was this electric spark lighter that I converted into a mini stash container. I made it out of that lighter and a pop can. It's not really anything special but quite handy when put to use in bad situations. It only looks stock upon first glance, but it just looks broken otherwise.

Lately i've putting together ipod parts from old broken 5th generation ipods. I had a 60 gb working perfectly with rockbox last week, but it was glitching so I tried giving it another shot at fixing it one last time on sunday night and screwed up the battery cable. Yesterday I put a 30 GB battery with a fresh cable, and it worked for about an hour until it fucked up again. Now i am waiting on another two broken ipods from my friend, hoping that I will get a working 60gb battery and hopefully a new main board with a working middle button. I'm too lazy to wait on parts from ebay.

Tore my PSP apart, sprayed it, airbrushed a design on the back, re-assembled it, works fine.
The design on the back could have been better but I was getting itchy without it so I rushed it a bit.

Threw this together the other day, and it hits like a champ, so I'm a little proud of it, and I'm high as hell after hitting it, so it's worth the post.
It's just made out of some dollar store st. patrick's day novelty beer cup, and we just cut a little of the top, threw on the energy drink ashcatcher and it was good to go, took twenty minutes max.
