Just to get a comparison of what people are using around these parts, share what your download/upload speed is and what connection you have (Dial-up/ADSL/Cable/Satellite etc)

Connectivity: ADSL 2+
Download: 24Mbps
Upload: 1Mbps

Connectivity: ADSL
Download: 512Kbps
Upload: 128Kbps

My current ISP are slow as hell with ADSL2 rollout, and the only company (AFAIK) in my area is Bigpond (Australians can attest to how good they are).

Connectivity: WiMax
Download: 1024Kbps
Upload: 256Kbps

But, it does have a DL/UL limit which is 15GB and that my friend sucks big time.
Trying my level best to get ADSL.

Connectivity: Shitty dorm internet
D: Anywhere from broken to 700k depending on how I sit, the phase of the moon and if I've just farted near the ethernet jack. Sacrificing sheep to the router sometimes works though.

U: Again, goes from not working to 200k.

Anyway, enough procrastinating, I've locked myself in my room and turned my phone off cos I have more work to do than a troop of slaves.

God, how I loathed dial-up, especially when your modem makes that horrible crackling noise when you connect.

DSL, 7.9 MB/s.

I should know the answer to this one, I just paid my last bill. Problem is, I got the bundle (TV, telephone and internet) and with taxes, fees, etc. it runs about US $120 per month. That is about $30 less than I was paying for satellite TV, phone and dial-up internet. And now I can still watch TV when it is raining!

Thats pretty much exactly the same thing my family did when we got Comcast. We're saving a ton of money compared to before.
