My Spain has gotten too lucky.. the first knockout game is always a killer for us. We need some real competition so we don't get complacent. I'm calling Spain/Chile out of group H.
Don't smack talk the US too much. They're a good international side with players in quality leagues. As a team they're probably one of the most fit if not the best in that area, and they have a winning passion. They depend on themselves for hype because nobody cares out here. It's a fearsome combination. I can see the US getting far this time. The double edge is that the US doesn't take goal scoring chances lightly, but when they see the exposed skin they become a dagger.
Spain can win this time. I hope they do. They may not, after all is said and done.. but we really have a potent and young team for this one. Iniesta is our Messi/Ribery, and we have arguably the best midfield ever. EVER. Villa wants to score for Spain like the planets revolve around the sun. He finds true purpose in it. Torres can be goddamn magical at times. He'll just pop out a brilliant play with a poker face like he doesn't even know he's doing anything. Lot's to eat with the Xav/bis. Puyol and Ramos.. powerful and decisive, and Casillas is pretty much perfection with decision making when he's in the zone. Also Aragones is gone and we have a manager that seems to let the players mastermind more of the game. Aragones would always piss me off with his decisions because I thought they were stupid in a few important instances.. like he's trying too hard to pull strings, and gamble with players that make no sense in the context of the game at hand. I'm fucking excited people.

Fuck yes USA!! Easy 9 points and I was basically prepared for us to get a tough group.

I'd rather have the USA in a group with me than Mexico as far as North and Central America goes. I seriously don't see England losing to them, I think they'll get through the group fase, but that's only because the rest of the group is complete shit.
England lucked out on that one.
As far as the groups go, G is the only one that has 3 good countries in it. Which is a bit of a shame because the group fase won't be too spectacular (unless there are real surpises ofcourse), but the rest of the games should be good.

pfft! Your hole! Serbia are gonna walk that group. And the Africans won't exactly be pushovers either.
Group of death.

On the USA, seriously man, what the fuck? Players in quality leagues is nothing to boast about. And what quality leagues? Donovan couldn't make it in Europe. And doesn't McBride play for them anymore? He's way better than that eejit Casey. And the fittest, what shit have you been smoking boy? This isn't Amateur League 3B, everyone is fucking fit. If you wanna talk about winning passion you're best to talk about a team who have actually won something - Brazil, Spain, Italy etc....
And yeah, it's Spain's to lose I think. What a midfield, what a forward line. Not the best at the back but still pretty damn good, and Casillas is a quality keper. Like you have Fabregas and Alonso on the bench!

Enit. There's like, Friedel, and that's it. There only decent player.
The rest are probably of high Championship, low Premier League quality.
With a win over the yanks already under Capello I can't imagine them causing an upset.

I had to 'watch' this shit on the fucking FIFA site. 4 guys sitting around the laptop with beers watching a website refresh.
Can't fucking wait for it all to start now. After the draw I was hyped to watch England vs USA. That's going to be an amazing opening game for the group, which will probably dictate who takes the top spot, as if the yanks beat England they'll be on a major high.
I think 2 very important factors this time around will be the climate and the fact it's being played in Africa. The African nations are probably going to act up to the challenge like never before and will receive huge support, and the fact it's being played in winter will mean that colder nations will feel more at home.
A. France, S Africa
B. Nigeria, Argentina
C. England, USA
D. Germany, Ghana
E. Netherlands, Denmark
F. Italy, Slovakia
G. Ivory Coast, Brazil
H. Spain, Switzerland
Favourites imo are Spain, Germany or Netherlands. Spain because they're shit hot atm; Germany and Netherlands because they're 2 solid teams who'll benefit greatly from the fact it's being played in winter. I would say England, but we'll go out in the quarters/semis to Germany on penalties.

Cote d'Ivoire are good. Got both Toures, Eboue, Drogba and Kalou. Arguably have a lot of talent in their squad, and with it being held in Africa, I fancy the Ivory Coast to go through as well.

Ivory Coast stormed the qualifying stages, have a solid team with players from many top European clubs and are kind of on home turf.
Even though they're in a tough group, I really don't think you can write them off that easily. I mean, the winter climate's going to work against Brazil and leave them a little vulnerable; the teams in that group are probably all going to take points off eachother here and there, and I can see North Korea putting 10 11 men behind the ball and shutting up shop against everybody to try and scrape through, meaning attacking teams like Brazil and Portgual could possibly get caught on the break and be the victim of an upset.
But fuck it, what do I know. If England don't, I hope North Korea win tbh, seeming as Polska and Russia didn't make it ffs.

Portugal are pretty average.
Without Ronaldo they're there for the taking. With Ronaldo, they're there for the taking.
Brazil are a shadow of their former selves. Our 2nd team held up well against them, so IC could easily beat them on a good day.

Nah, they sacked him after 3 losses I think. I dunno who they have now, but suffice to say it's probably someone who can't do cool kick-ups with Kleenex tissues....

No, they fired him after so much failed games. This boss had already directed the team, which ok results.
I'm not sure if they open the World Cup with South Africa, which sounds tough. Either way, let's see how it goes and let's hope a lion eats a couple of French players or something lol.

It would be nice to if everyone would scream bloody murder when they're playing but apparently South Africans always, constantly make a lot of noise during a football match. They have these fucking horns they blow on the entire time.

Nobody seems to be giving Australia a chance in group D. They'll get through, second behind Germany, but then they'll play the winner of group C right? Which means England. Which means rape.

Because Serbia are on shit hot form and stormed their group, and Ghana are a tidy little outfit who could easily get through. Australia have a good chance of getting through, but it's such a tight group that I'd say they're favourites for finishing last.
