Can you install a Reputation mod? I know there are plenty of mods for vBulletin. There are two options, "I approve" and "I disapprove" on button click. It's unfair that we can only thank people for good posts, we should be able to give them bad rep for posting garbage.

Agree/disagree
Approve/disapprove
Like it/hate it
...

Whatever as long as there's not only THANKS button, but the opposite as well.

We did have this when zoklet first came out. But with a community like this, it wont work. LSA King etc would become Rep Powers which can ruin the smaller guys rep with one negetive jump.

Negative rep gives attention to negative posts, which is bad. Thanks work fine.

Reputation is not displayed within the post itself, like THANKS mod, so it can't draw any attention. Sometimes people post really DUMB and STUPID posts that make me want to rip my arm off and kill them with it. It's just a suggestion, not a request.

This has been suggested many times, the answer always has been no and I hope it stays that way. I somehow seem to have amassed a decent collection of thanks.

Really though I think this forum could do without thanks, avatars, IMGs in sigs, friends lists, custom user titles, banners, groups and a bunch of other shit. Just a waste of space.

we have had rep removed and reinstated twice.

zok wants people to acknowledge individual posts, as he believed that is what is important.
he didnt want to have a "negative" thanks either, since it would result in people doing to each other out of spite

of course, thanks isnt particularly abuse proof, and we have people thanking those they like over and over again, in a tribal like fashion

that was the general thoughts of the &T rep system. It got abused far too often.
