I think it's a little hard for me to get a hold of peyote, but san pedro is easy, so is it good, or comparable to using peyote?
Will all the teks work for either cactus?
Is it alright to order cacti online to australia?
Also, should i purchase seeds and grow them or just buy the cacti
What size should they be when time to harvest?
Thanks all for any help :p
EDIT: are then any other cacti like TRICHOCEREUS BRIDGESII that can be used that are good/better that are easy to obtain like san pedro?

Just have a look around san pedro and other trich's are very common in Australia, ask the owners if you can prune or take cuttings etc but nows the perfect time of the year to do so should be nice and full of alkaloids after this summer.

Yes and no. I reccomend you pick your cactus and then do the research for the tek on it.

No idea, general rule is not too go crazy with amounts, but dunno how OZ works, check your local law also..

If you have time (read: lots of time) grow it, otherwise buy it. As for size... depends on cacti, but you know what they say, the bigger, the older and the better!

Yes, San Pedro is a good source of mescaline. In fact, it has been used for thousands of years in Peru for their rituals.
Most of the mescaline are inside the skin of the cactus. So skin that cactus and dry it up.
I think as a general rule, it's safe and legal to grow it as long as its for ornamental purposes. This applies to countries that include the US and Australia. So I can imagine that it's legal to order it online as well. So the real problem is if they catch you growing it for mescaline. But don't quote me on that. Better check further.
But if you can prove that you'll be using mescaline for religious and cultural practices, I think you're covered. But again, check further for specific laws.

That's from Trout's notes, which is fairly reputable, but there is further discussion in that thread. Mescaline percentage is not the only factor I don't think, there are a bunch of other alkaloids in these cacti that make a difference.

San Pedro are legal to possess in Australia and cuttings are openly traded on ebay. Its hit and miss when it comes to mescaline content as it differs wildly from cacti to cacti. If you manage to locate a decent specimen vendors usually have multiple listings.
It is highly illegal to prepare the cacti in any way within many Australian states and it will probably get you a nice drug charge if you're caught being a dumbass.
When it comes to cacti smiple Acid/base extractions are preferred but the tea is an experience within itself.
To make the tea take atleast 45cms of cacti, remove the spines, slice and blend until smooth and of a similar consistency to snot. Freeze for 24 hours and defrost. Add 2 cups of lemon juice or powdered citric acid and 2 - 4 liters of water.
Proceed to boil this within a double boiler (little pot inside a big pot) stirring intermittently for 6 hours or until the solution has reduced considerably, strain off and drink the water. The cacti pulp can be boiled again for another round.
This reminds me, is anyone here any good at determining cacti species? Theres some on a hiking track near mine back home that look suspiciously like san pedro but I want a second opinion. I can get a picture next time im back home.
