I know nothing of musical theory, and this is my first muddling in fruity loops that doesn't sound like percussion sets being thrown at each other. How could I improve it? What have I done "wrong"

I thought it would make a decent intro until the part at :20, then it got really annoying. It sounded like a shitty death metal riff played on a piano, and the drums bothered me. Before that it was pretty cool though.

No offense but if you dont know anything about music theory or sound design then you have probably done everything wrong.

Do you know music theory?

Do you know the piano keyboard thing for adding your green bars (or MIDI input?)

The green piano things Nightside Eclipse is talking about is your Piano Roll.

Right click on your sample, then choose piano roll. You can then click and draw your notes on how you want them to play out.
