This was apparently such a big deal that they had an article about it on Yahoo. Viewers were really pissed, apparently.

Anyways, I'm torn. On the one hand, the typical, rural Midwestern family portrayed here is the type of family that helps stop this country from making progress. They should be bashed, simply because their backwardness is considered so acceptable. On the other hand, it doesn't seem like Stephen gave her a fair chance, and right off the bat began bashing her solely for their class differences and her low level of education, which really aren't necessarily her fault.

What do you think?
