Creating a subforum of Paranormal.

I can't remember who, but someone brought this up recently, and I wanted to see what people thought of it.

There's a lot of information in Paranormal that fits into a group of teachings that represent the path of conscious evolution etc, and does not so much focus on "paranormal" activity, whatever that may be.

It's almost like a cross between religion and the inhumane condition. (oh the humanity!).

What do you think, should there be an sub-forum for a wider degree of topics and better organization?

Does anyone remember SotD? It was fucking awesome. There was a lot of gay shit, a lot of ghosts, aliens and shit. Tons of awesome stories and theories. A lot of really weird shit that you don't hear about used to get posted, and a lot of really cool shit. This is how I found totse and the crazy shit in that forum got me addicted. Now Paranormal and Conspiracy both lack above mentioned shit in their descriptions leading users to not post any aforementioned awesome shit. Paranormal is mainly ate and greyfox talking about new-age shit, and others talking about shit that could fit in R&S or Conspiracy. I'm a part of the new-age shit myself, but I also wish something like SotD was around. I propose the description be changed and maybe a new-age/spiritual healing/astrology/shamanism forum or subforum be created. ate thinks the subforum idea is pretty good. I told this all to zok on irc and he said its something that should probably be done but he doesnt have any personal point of reference so to post it here for review.

if anything, swap it the other way around, make paranormal a subforum of religion, and broaden religions scope.

Personally I think this is a terrible idea. All it will do is create more confusion. Creating "pet" forums for every idea or person is just silly. Pretty soon every member will have their own forum.

A better idea would be to fuse the paranormal forum with the religious forum. They're so narrowly connected that I don't see why paranormal just can't be a subforum of religion and spirituality.

Instead of trying to make more specific smaller forums, we should aim at larger forums. That way we can work to improve the interaction between the members. Instead of isolating each other from the people we don't like in smaller forums, I think that good relationships can be created by all working together in larger forums.

I don't see why someone gets to have a subforum for himself so he can go hide in it from the rest of the website. We're all friends here. If it were up to me, we wouldn't have more than 7 forum categories. :)
