I have made it abundantly clear how much I loath and despise racism. As a rule, this amounts to whites hating or objectifying non-whites
But why is it that limosine liberals like Jay Leno, who pretends to pal around with Kevin (his black employee), and who would never make a non-PC, anti-black statement, routinely makes jokes about poor uneducated whites, calling them rednecks or trailer trash? And that is supposed to be okay?
If anything, that is even more reprehensible than more overt racism. It is sneaky, smarmy, and panders to the lowest common denominator in his audience.
I think it was Chris Rock who observered that the most racist people on earth are old black men. I am in no position to evaluate the truth of that statement, but it rings true to me.
That said, any statement that smears any group--whites, blacks, redskins, poor whites, women, gays, whatever--is fucking pathetic, and reveals a gross lack of spiritual consciousness on the part of the speaker.

All very true. Racism is despicable. Not only does it denote a lack of spiritual consciousness, as you said, it denotes a sheer incomprehension of the role society, upbringing, and economic situations play on people. Racists are all-too quick to shut their ears and cry "Nigger" at any black man, or any group for that matter, and blame things their wrongdoings on their race, or creed. Utterly despicable.

LOL, isn't this funny? He says racists are all to quick to shut their ears and cry nigger yet he expects any response from a racist to be ignorant. Upbringing does indeed play a role however all people are restrained by their racially influenced genetics.
This is a good thread Greyfox. It's good that someone is acknowledging the racial prejudice from both sides of the isle. Racial prejudice does nothing to solve a problem however racism is a science, it has little to do with name calling. Kudos to you Greyfox.

"Pathetic" means worthy of pity or compassion. It is not a perjorative.
The fact that racism is spiritually unevolved is a fact, not an opinion or a judgement.
Those of us who espouse the Perennial Philosophy--that is, people like Jesus, Aristotle, the Buddha, the 12th century Sufi poet Rumi, and a shitload of saints (notably St John of the Cross and St Teresa of Avilla), have consistently maintained that man's obsessive consciousness of, and insistence on being, a separate self is the final and most formidable obstacle to the unitive knowledge of God--this is the highest state of spiritual consciousness and evolution possible. To be a self, to us, is the original sin, for not only is one separated from others, one is separated from one's Essential Self (or soul) and thus lives in a self-created Hell.
Racism is by definition a separating notion.
Now to address this "superior" issue. I have said many times that no one is inherantly better than anyone else--that God in the more primitive levels loves us all equally, and favors no one race or group over another--this is perhaps the saddest delusion of Judaism.
By virtue of my years of study and experience, I am superior to some others in terms of wisdom and knowledge--superior AS A HUMAN BEING, NEVER.
Got it?

We'll you see, that's just unfortunate my friend, spiritualism, religion and gnosticism have integrated and thus destroyed humanity. I'm quite proud to proclaim that I am an anti-theist, a freethinker, a humanist, or; spiritually unevolved. I would much rather evolve as an animal. I am nothing more than an animal, an organism who's consciouseness has a time limit, I am no different from my fellow apes nor the wasps I kill on a daily basis, with great prejudice, nor the algae deep in the sea.

I agree, picking on poor uneducated whites is the last acceptable kind of rascism. After this goes we will have to move onto other bigotry, i.e. fat or short people or some other person seen with undesirable characteristics, or just different charactaristics.

Yes I am white and proud. In todays world being white is wrong. Its not cool to be white everything is your fault. All the nigger crime is my fault. All the niggers milking the welfare system is my fault. All the illegals running across our borders are my fault. How do I know it is my fault because I have to pay every week with my paycheck taxes to support them. This is a fine example of how the world will work when whites completely lose power and are made to suffer because of no other reason than the color of their skin. Grey fox I did notice a racial slur in your fine speech or is now acceptable to call native Americans "redskins "or is this another fine example of how it is alright for one group of people to refer to themselves with racial slurs while throwing shit fits when anybody else especially white people refer to them with the same slurs.

And just to let you know, I'm an atheist too, so you can take your god and your religion and go fuck yourself.
Actually, he is right on. The natural design of man is one that requires transcendence in order for progression to take place; that is, in terms you'll understand, thinking about someone other than yourself.
Think of it this way. You went to school and learned that your body is a highly complex network of cells, tissues, organs, etc., that all rely on each other in order for you to function property. Each part of our body, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, plays an important part in keeping you healthy. Correct?
Well, think of the human race as a single body. Each individual is like a cell, with an important function that must be carried out. Roadways are like veins, governments can be compared to the brain, and mexico is the anus (har har). I could keep going, but I'm simply trying to make a point.
As we continue to grow as a society, we become increasingly more dependent on one another. The house you live in, the streets you drive down, the food you eat, the water you drink, its all been provided for you by other people (albeit not without a price, of course).
Think of all the knowledge we have acquired about the universe we live in; science, math, etc. Did we learn these things overnight? Did one guy sit down and pull all of it out of thin air? No, it has been collectively acquired through cooperation and by building on what is already known and proven.
Now, some of you are probably thinking this is all hippy socialist bullshit. But its not. All I'm trying to say is that we are dependent on each other no matter what, just as each cell in our bodies are dependent on each other. Thats how nature designed us, and it is how we are destined to be. By not accepting this fact, you hinder mankind's progress and evolution and stop us from reaching our potential.
I'm sorry if this is a bit hard to follow, I have trouble wording my thoughts.

Guilt is a product of fear. Fear is your enemy, not some minority group you feel like picking on.
Pride is a deadly sin.

You know, I agree with your post in several ways, however I have stopped letting those people bother me. I moved from a mountain town that was all white pretty much and was thrown into the ghetto of detroit for a year. I ended up doing pretty good and making friends with many of the black folk there. So black on white racism in the real world CAN be overcame, for the most part, as can white on black.
However, I must say that Jay makes jokes about everyone. He always makes jokes about how Kev smokes weed (referring to the stereotype that black people always smoke weed).

Actually, that's highly debatable. The forced deregulation (a form of regulation in and of itself) particularly of the Clinton era home loans continued through Bush's administration, which allowed highly questionable loans to be made.
Now, Bush's not addressing this while instituting some of his administration's reforms (which aren't a belief in the free market thinking), arguably exacerbated the issue, but you really can't claim this was George W. Bush's fault with any kind of quantitative certainty. Even the qualitative certainties associated with "largely" imply that other influences were "small-ly" to blame, relatively speaking. There just aren't enough control factors nor repeatability to begin to make accurate analysis of the situation. Given time, with more data points from the economic sector and enough time to review them among peers for a general consensus of contributing factors, generalizations as to blame can more accurately, though still uncertainly, be made.

The origins of the current financial slump lie from well before the Bush Administration, many economist do agree that in this case governments are not guilty.
Blaming Bush seems like a very simplistic way of looking at the issue, the problems is with bad practices in the private sector, a business culture that supports debt as a way of life.

Especially when the "free market" is defined as political pressure groups who force themselves "freely" on banks to "lend" more money to "people" who are happy to accept it, yet lack the income to pay it back.
In case you weren't paying attention, the Community Re-investment Act of the Carter presidency was basicly suspended for the 12 years that republicans were in power. It wasn't until the Clinton administration with a democratic congress that the CRA was re-instated with all the fury and furor of Al Sharpton and his ilk that sub-prime loans were handed out like fucking lollipops at a dentists office.
