no, arson will just give him the upper hand because it sounds like he could justifibly claim it was you, considering you are at ods with him. He will probably hit you legally.

You need to scare him so I suggest holding a gun to his head, while there is still a chance he will try to get you legally this chance can be greatly reduced if you instill enough fear in him.
