i'm currently mulling over an idea that i got partly from the 'where's snoopy' comp and reading thru that 'obama: we're not snooping on you' fred, or whatever its called. so what if we identify some of the worst offenders to society, democracy and freedom. then i shop their pix into wanted posters and state their crimes against society. users can then print them off and post them around their own cities and any other places they visit. if we keep the same posters going up all over the world then that could catch the attention of people who see the web address on the posters, and maybe some news agencies may pic up on it too. i mean its nothing worse than wikileaks or infowars do. will be interesting to see if zok and the admins have the balls for this. not that it really needs balls tbh.

like i said, post any other ideas you have that could get us some cool publicity. and if enough of you are up for it then i'll start a fred in IAC.

I feel like the the general forums are populated usually by people who have been here for some time and have already established a niche in whatever specialty forum interests them. Maybe if we move some of the specialty forums higher up on the page, above all the forums filled with infighting, it would maybe keep newer members on zoklet. Instead of logging in and seeing the latest post on the top 5 or so boards being about bitching about staff or talking some PEOO shit, they could see threads from DIY, TJI, etc.

Currently a cesspool of kids asking basic questions that could be asked by Googling, asking shit that's been answered a million times on the forum itself.

The place needs a big sticky with all the best threads linked. The next best tier as well, underneath, for more info. And some goddamn instructions on how to properly search the site.

Any redundant posts that've been answered a million times get locked and the poster gets directed to the sticky. The sticky that gets made.

I got time on my hands for the foreseeable ~6 months and I actually made Bad Ideas respectable in 2009 while I was mod.

It needs a brutal makeover, over the course of a fortnight or so.

Then we'll call a vote and see if people think Bad Ideas if better. If they are not, then BI gets reverted back to it is now.

Bad Ideas is a bit of a cesspool, blaming no individual in particular [skygear has modded quite well I believe], but there's a time for a bit of heavy fisted action [lol, I resisted innuendo], I know a lot of people are against radical changes to the forum, but I think that a ~2 week brutal experiment on one of the more iffy forums would be supported by most of you guys that are arguing.

And don't forget, Bad Ideas brings a lot of traffic *to* this site, but we're having trouble retaining them due to the fact it's not simple enough to find the good shit.

I'll admit the feature is useful when you're clicking a thread you've already read and it scrolls down to the newest post based on where you left off, but I'm annoyed that I have to constantly go to the top of the page by whatever means to get to the first post of a thread I've never even read before.
