All I needed was a used $14 power supply from a computer 250 watt , 12 volt , 16 amps and some electrical tape .

It really does sound great , nice clean bass . I even made a on/off switch out of house wire and a light switch .

I'm about to dump 500$ into the stock market and see where it goes. I've been thinking about it for some time now and have done a decent amount of research into the company and its competitors which I wish to invest.

Is it best to put all my eggs in one basket, considering 500$ isnt that much when a stock is 90$ Or with $500 should I rethink my company of investment and go for cheaper stock that I think has good potential. My goal here is to make quick investments then pull espescially during an IPO, not interested in long term. any suggestions comments

I've been looking into this stuff a lot and want to do a full range of experimentation on my free time. Some of you might, too. I think this video says so much about the basics in a short time, so I figured I would share.

John Bedini in this clip basically explains how he makes his: Copper is the positive electrode, magnesium is the negative.

We all know that water corrodes metal electrodes, which will kill the battery over time. Since this is the case, he melts epsom salts into a pot to release the water. He then removes the water and dries it into a powdered form.

His next step is to fill the copper (+) electrode with rochelle salts (the copper is a bowl shape). On top of this he will pour the epsom salt powder, and then heat this mix. I think what he's doing is melting the powder above the rochelle salts so that if there is any water or oxygen, nothing can get in or out.

The final step is to place the magnesium (-) electrode on top of the boiling crystal mixture. He then charges it with a 12V battery to polarize it (Hutchison does the same), and his end result is a 1.5v battery. A lot of people working with these types of cells have been running some for years, which is really important to keep in mind.

Something Hutchison made me aware of was that he was crushing clear/silicate rocks he was picking up off the ground in the neighborhood, and then mixing them with a few other chemicals similar to the ones Bedini is using in this clip. His cells were running small motors without even being connected in series. These are some pretty cheap ass basic projects for anyone remotely interested in the future of off grid energy. I want to see just how much these guys are gonna figure out in the next 5 years or so. If we still have batteries going for years on end, then it looks like we ought to pay more attention to what's going on here.

The main reason I find this all so interesting is not only because it's cheap, but no one is experimenting enough with this. You don't hear about it much, and while solar panels are great and all, I think finding a way around galvanic action while producing voltage is something people don't even consider possible, yet these men seem to suggest otherwise.

*edit*
Yep, confirmed recently this cell that lasersaber made (using the same method with a few other ingredients) has now been running over a year on live net cam

I really would be amazed if the ingredients to make these things get cheaper over time, or they find new ones (the jury is still out on grinding clear stones like Hutchison does...maybe I'll be the one to figure that out.). These cells are pretty big, considering you can get .7 volts out of nothing but copper wire bits and soda can tabs. Imagine a bunch in series and parallel producing some serious power, for over a year.

Now what i am trying to achieve here is described in the thread title. I am i guessing i need to use a relay of sorts but which one and how to hook it up eludes me.

I have two circuits, one that operates at 0.5v and sends out a current of 0.5v after a certain amount of time. I need that little current to operate a switch that will complete a 9v circuit. Wut do?

Spatula Tzar oh mighty misstres of the electron do share your knowledge. Or anyone really that can help me out here :)
Thanks in advance!

So out we go to the DIY store and get some polycil mould treatment
And I get all geared up to do it and I pull out some of the old wood
And there it was £70 in cash covered in mould so I cleaned the mouldy money and then the wall and I got to keep the cash "haha"
Fucking awesome.

I understand why you can't use aluminum for a full sized practical cannon, but what about just some little small thing like that? Surely, I can't imagine a small amount of gun powder blowing that tiny thing apart. Even if it damaged an aluminum barrel, I wouldn't really care since they'd be cheap to make.

Anyway, my idea is to carve the barrel out of foam on a lathe, including the chamber. Then I'd do a lost foam casting using aluminum, and once I've done that, I'd drill out the chamber just to make it smooth enough and drill out the hole for the fuse.

So any thoughts?
