I got in contact with this guy through the Swedish WWOOF site, that was like a week ago and now tomorrow I'm heading to Sweden for two months, should be interesting. Specifically I'm going to an island in Sweden, called Oland. I get paid equilavent to £300 / $500 a month for food, then I get a free room and of course I have to work, doing a variety of things.
Has anyone else done anything similar?
It's the first time I've done something like this and I'm feeling quite nervous about it.

Yesterday I took some time out to visit Wellington, but got talking to someone on the bus and ended up on the South Island instead. The cruise across is scenic and I spent the nigjt in Picton in "The Villa Backpackers", which has a hottub and lot s of blankets and heaters. Highly recommended.

This morning I just started walking towards Blenheim, sorta intending to hitch-hike, but the walk was so lovely I never did. Instead I ran into two guys from Strasbourg and two sistets from the Italian Alps. The French guys are performers and live from their car, camping out, the sisters are just travellers, they live in their station wagon and do agricultural jobs. They are both in the Marlborough for wine work.

I'm in Picton. I spent the night in a hostel (backpackers) with a very nice hottub, which I monopolised for an hour, taking cold showers and hopping back into the lovely heat. Hot tubs are the zenith of human achievement. New Zealand is charming and very friendly.

Is there anything worse than these Scandanavian backpacker assholes who scowl, look mean, don't talk, are generally just complete jerks to everyone. They talk in their guttoral shit language, "ugg ugg ugg". They piss me off, and make me glad Scandanavia is going sandnigger.

We get them in Ireland too. Cunts. Germans aren't like that.

So, lately I've been reading up a lot more on US politics, what the government is doing and will be doing in the future, and it just disgusts me.. I really can't stand to live here any longer if I can help it. I want absolutely no part in it; the $200 in income taxes (I'm a poor as fuck student) I send to the government every year is too much. That being said, that's not the point of this thread.

I'm currently running an online business which is making me a fair bit of money. Sustainable for sure. Being online, I can effectively run my business anywhere that has a good internet connection.
I would like to move somewhere that has a good quality of living, great public transportation, great culture/night life, good economy, and chill people.

Another huge factor in where I choose to live is transportation to other countries, as I love traveling and not having to take a plane is a huge advantage. Because of this, I was thinking of somewhere in Europe, but I don't really know. Oh, I also speak pretty good Spanish, but i'm always down to learn a new language.

Anyone have any good suggestions? I have already spent some time in Switzerland, France and Italy, and they were all pretty chill, but if possible i'd like to do somewhere new.
Extra points if the government there respects it's citizens and doesn't fuck them every chance they get.

Korea and Indonesia celebrates 40 years of bilateral ties this year, crowning the year as the “friendship year”.

A range of events are scheduled to celebrate the “deep and widening” ties between the two countries, including an ASEAN-Korea Festival, to be launched by the Korea Foundation on May 21, and the 2013 Korea-Indonesia Forum held in Jakarta on Thursday.

“Indonesia has a similar history of industrialization to our own, including the democratization process that comes with it tailor-made,” former South Korea prime minister Kim Suk-soo said during the enhancing the Korea-Indonesia middle power partnership forum.

The strong relationship between the two countries was proven by the fact that between 2007 and 2012 alone Korean investment in Indonesia increased by 370 percent to US$964 million, pundit Lee Sun-jin from Sogun University said.

Meanwhile, bilateral trade increased from US$14.9 billion to $29.6 billion, said Lee who is also former ambassador to Indonesia.

Echoing the upbeat spirit was Foreign Ministry’s director general for Asia-Pacific and African affairs, Yuri O. Thamrin, who said that the ties between the two countries were solid, strong and comprehensive, characterized by progresses and important achievements.

“Our bilateral trade target was set at US$50 billion by 2015 and $100 billion by 2020. To attain this target, a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement [CEPA] has been negotiated by both sides,” said Yuri.

He added that Korean investment in Indonesia cumulatively reached $5.3 billion in 2011, involving 3,882 projects, the biggest being the POSCO and PT Krakatau Steel steel mill project in Cilegon worth $6 billion.

However, bilateral ties aren’t just pennies and nickels.

Lack of understanding between people of the two countries are seen as a challenge; speakers agreed that promoting cultural exchange was integral.

Indonesia’s Regional Representatives Council chairman Irman Gusman, pointed out: “K-Pop culture is permeating Indonesian society. We’re crazy for Gangnam [dance] style. But not many Koreans know enough about Indonesia.” Some 35,000 South Koreans live in Indonesia at present.

Separately, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu hoped the forum would provide answers to how to deepen, strengthen and broaden bilateral relations.

“We have ASEAN-South Korea FTA, we have ongoing negotiations on the bilateral Indonesia-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership and also Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership of East Asia.

“You have a lot of other regional partnerships going on, whether it’s the [US-led] Trans Pacific Partnership, US-EU transatlantic partnership. What is the Asian model?” she added.

Indonesia and Korea established diplomatic ties on Sept. 17, 1973. (asw)
