Rolf just started a VH/VH campaign with Lithuania and failed on the second turn, both family members died on the same turn, what rotten luck, ponders Rolf.

Rolf is the real Rolf, there are poor Taiwanese imitations, but these are of a lesser quality than the real Rolf, proclaims Rolf.

Just wait till one is caught in a siege battle defending against a bunch of angry Nord Huskarls, states Rolf.

According to Rolf, the factions are so:

Swadia = Holy Roman Empire, France, a.k.a the Western European Feudal guys, great heavy cavalry and powerful infantry and crossbowmen, states Rolf.

Vaegir = The Rus, great heavy cavalry, best foot archers, less armour and more damage when compared to Swadia, states Rolf.

Nords = Post-Christian Scandinavians, no cavalry (except for Jarls, who are often mounted), best infantry often armed with throwing weapons and acceptable archers, states Rolf.

Khergits = Mongols, Turks, Tartars, Cumans etc, the Asiatic Steppe Nomads, good medium cavalry lancers and the only faction with horse archers (in non modded game), states Rolf.

Rhodoks = Italian city-states, no cavalry, the best crossbowmen, large numbers of spearmen and some heavy infantry, all with large pavise shields, states Rolf.

Sarranids (Warband) = Saracens, Mamluks, powerful heavy cavalry, average archers and infantry that often have armour piercing weapons, states Rolf.

Warband is the better choice, states Rolf, the additional faction (based off the Saracens) and the improved world map are enough reasons, but the addition of noble families and the morale system, not to mention the improved graphics and items, are enough reason to spend the little extra for it, states Rolf.

Rolf is playing a mod called Blood and Steel, Rolf can't wait for the Sword of Damocles: Warlords mod to be working correctly, states Rolf. As to the answer of thee, no, Rolf has heard nothing of Red Orchestra 2, what did they do to it? Rolf asks of thee.

Warband is the stand alone expansion, it has better graphics, more quests (though the game is nonlinear and not quest based), a marriage system (allowing one to marry into a noble family for political leverage) and an additional faction and country for that faction, states Rolf. Be warned, one will feel overwhelmed and a little over one's head, but Mount&Blade is one of those awesome indie games that few notice, proclaims Rolf.

Warband is well worth it, suggests Rolf, however, both have long lists of mods found here, states Rolf.

Intel Pentium IV 2.0 GHz or AMD 2000+
1 GB or more of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 or ATI Radeon X600 video card

States Rolf. A lot of mods for said game and lots of ways to play said game, Rolf suggest, suggests Rolf.

What prevents ArmA from greatness is the fact that even the best of computers will only run it averagely, laments Rolf. Mount&Blade: Warband is a good game, if one feels like something similar but completely different to Medieval II, suggests Rolf.
