oh. yes, Earth would be in a different galaxy than the Star Wars universe. There was this aprochyal Star Wars story that had han and chewis landing (crashinh more like) on Earth, but I think that was due to a hyperspace fuck-up. I don't know the details on the story but it is listed in the 'unofficial star wars timeline'; google it for the details

I think you'd find California very interesting. Southern Cali is kind of grungy, but you'd find a lot of stuff to do. Northern Cali and the Sierras are really nice if you're into seeing nature. Those places really make me miss the beauty of New Zealand landscape.
