Like most countries, you are doomed in the long run, then. There simply won't be enough people to support the non-workers. Japan will be the first to fall for this reason, probably in 10-20 years. Nearly 1/4 of their population is over 65.

Anyway, I am interested in the average Dane's view on immigration/diversity. I read this and found it very funny: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ssimilate.html

I can only imagine what kind of reaction suggesting this would have in the U.S. Paying immigrants to leave.

Something most people don't know or take into account in their analysis is that the Nordic countries are some of the least diverse developed countries around, second only to maybe the East Asians, like Japan and South Korea. It's well supported by evidence that diversity doesn't really have any benefits, but has many negative effects:

Solidarity is a strength, diversity is a weakness. I may write a book one day about racial differences and their effects on societies, and the Nordic countries will have a section because they're such good examples.

So, what I'd like to know is, what is your perception of the average Dane's view of diversity/immigration? I am mostly referring to their feelings on non-Whites, like Muslims and Africans. Denmark is about 89% native Dane, IIRC, and most of the rest of the immigrants are from other Nordic countries, which have similar cultures, or are at least White. East Asians are even less problematic, they have crime rates even lower than Whites and usually higher incomes. Do most people silently acknowledge that these immigrants are problematic and would prefer to remain homogeneous/maintain their culture?

Viva la right-wing revolution! I already loved your anti-immigration laws and sentiment, this just makes it better. Let's get you guys fully neo-liberal.

It seems a lot of people in Denmark only complete 9 years of school.

Do a lot of them go to trade schools after that? Do employers do a lot of on the job training? Or do a lot of people just get jobs that don't really require education?

Serious question, what's with educational attainment in Denmark?

If we look at the other end of the education level, those with only 9 years of education, in Denmark it is 34 percent, whereas in the U.S. it is 14 percent. In Sweden the number is 26 percent and in Norway 18 percent. Again the numbers are much more favorable in the U.S.

The article I got this from was written in 2003, so there may have been some change, although I doubt it.

In the US that's the equivalent of only finishing middle school.
