Specific question regarding meditation....

How can I clear my head of all thoughts? I try so hard to focus on breathing and kind of put every negative thing I can think of into a box and lock it and burry it inside my imaginary headspace. I've managed to fully/completely meditate like... 8 times in my life, where I traveled my mind in a dream like state and... wait is that transcendence? I used hemisync to help. Anyways when I would get close to that transition, I'd get a real good body buzz and be like "damn that's nice" and no longer did I have a clear mind.
