A friend of a friend was offered an APC once, if memory serves it'd cost him about 11.000-12000 USD, it was a nondescript Russian built with all guns intact, but all in all that doesn't really say much about what he'd get as I don't know type/model/etc...

If one were to have a wish to acquire such a contraption, or just the round -flingin' component at the present, I'm sure one could find a friendly merchant in Libya right about now who'd be willing to cut you a deal...

But, it's all in the future, right now I don't have the time to go sink whaling ships...

If all else fails, I'd say we get an old ice breaker and bolt on a couple of surplus Russian 23mm's out of Africa or Eastern Europe, raise the Jolly Roger and give those fuckers a reason to fear us!

However it isn't cheap or the least bit legal to equip ships for, and with the purpose of conducting what will be called "piracy" or "vigilante justice" despite a more fitting charge would be "self defense" or maybe "planetary defense" (come to think of it, that's probably not really something they can charge you with) but the end result would probably be that various nations would start sending their navy after us and we'd get blown the fuck out of the water. In international waters... And our respective governments wouldn't back us up the least bit as they wouldn't be caught dead protecting "terrorists" (yup, we'd be labeled as that right quick).
So the only viable path I see right now is to use our freedom of speech (while we still have it) and try to convince our local community to boycott places that sell whale meat or shark fin soup; preferably by legal means, the more awareness people have of a problem the more likely they are to react to it and take a stand against it.

Well lads, as it stands right now it seems like my life is going to follow more or less traditional course, but if it fucks up bigtime, and I can find the resources somehow, I'm not necessarily against taking a bit o' street justice to the high seas as whatever treaties there might be obviously don't do diddly; there's too much shit going on as it is in regards to our planet, and it will eventually affect all of us regardless of political stand point, heritage, or personal opinions...
