Thumbs Up Insanely Massive FREE Electronics Catalog.

I ordered the free Allied 2009 Catalog the other day simply thinking it would be some dinky thrity page magazine. How incredibly wrong I was. It's five pounds with 2,272 pages. I'm quite impressed thus far. Now I just have to order something and see the quality of their products. Check it out.

That's pretty awesome. I just ordered mine. It may have some parts that I could find useful. And I could probably use the book for target practice or something.

If I ran that company I sure as hell wouldn't pay to ship that to Pakistan, it costs enough to ship a phone book sized thing within the US. Like pakis have money to spend on electronics anyways

Nice find OP, just ordered mine.

Puny.

I'm rocking an RS Components catalogue with over 3000 pages and weighing in at 3kgs or 6.61lbs. I have a Farnell one that is about the same size, maybe half a pound lighter.

Hey man, my company strives to provide a quality product here! We're not ripping you off - it's fully waterproof marine grade speaker (Not to mention that is finely tuned co-axial to better reproduce bird sounds - 60Hz to 20kHz!), which also features dual voice coils and has a 98+ sensitivity rating so that it draws a low enough amount of power as to be suitable to run off Solar cells in your garden. It also comes in a resin moulded hand painted enclosure which comes in a range of shapes, sizes, and colourings.

If you want to go with paper coned mid range speaker in a fibreglass enclosure painted with rattlecan brown from a lesser competitor, well that's your call, but don't criticise us for trying to cover costs on our products!

click the specs tab:
90dB, single vc.

-----------

I also checked out their audio offerings.
Amps and what not. Typically Bogen brand, such as you'd find in a school system PA.
And at list prices.
This company can afford to print large catalogs because they sell products at list price (large mark up).
Which is fine for people who order things using company money, but not so good if it's your own money.

But in the least, getting such a catalog will let you see products that are available to the world wide market.
In the least, it should burn nice on a cold day.

Got mine today. A good resource to have but I would definitely price hunt once I know what parts I would want for any specific project/repair.

Yay! I got my catalog today. My mum was surprised at how large it was. I may actually use it at some point because I am somewhat into electronics.(well, not really)

Holy crap, that's awful. You could probably make the exact same thing by building a frame out of cardstock or paper mache, coating it with fiber glass, drill holes for the speaker, spray paint it with speckled rock texture, and stick a speaker in it.

I got one, its a fucking phonebook-sized monster.

I did notice on pages 1500 or so, they have some fairly cheap LEDs, for much much cheaper than Radioshack, and you can order in bulk.

They also have a very nice selection of switches, keypads, obscure and hard-to-find batteries (in bulk too)...

One thing I am VERY disappointed about though is that they have NO INFRA-RED LEDs! Not even one in the whole book... no infrared LEDs.

I want to order 1 LED from them, just 1 single LED from them.... and be like "Thanks for the catalog! I'm sure it cost you 20 times to print and ship than what I spent from it... at least I have some bathroom-reading material!
