Default Parrots in the wild do not mimic other birds or animals

They have their own 'call', and there has never been a documented case of a parrot in the wild mimicking another animal. Other birds, minor birds for example do, but not parrots. Why they mimic humans when they're kept in a domestic setting is an unsolved mystery to Scientists and animal experts.

You just learned something you didn't know, praise me!

They do it to fit in with their human flock. Mimicking other animals in the jungle can put the entire flock in danger. I don't know what scientific community you get your facts from, casper, but this myth is BUSTED

There are many different kinds of parrots. Are you talking about all of them, or just Macaws?

Oh yeah, good point. Old World parrots general behave different from New World parrots. For example, Macaws tend to congregate more with other species of parrots, whereas it would be certain death for Cockatoos or African greys to do so.

Because my parents were going to throw down over a thousand dollars for one, so we had to make sure it was the right one. Ended up getting an African Grey.

NAIDS!

I'd love to get a parrot, but they live for so long that it's a huge responsibility.

Was it cool? A friend of mine had a few for a while and I always liked playing with them.

She still is. They're considered to be the most intelligent of all hookbills.

Fingering a lass you just met at the bus stop is the most romantic thing you do up here. You should have a go on her, Zum, if you think you can handle it.

I may. And if it all gets a bit too much I can always distract her with Scotch Eggs and make a quick getaway.
