Default Changing User-names

I go onto the thread so i can see who is becoming who, but i see users changing their names then going back to their originals. And a lot of mudfarmers asking for name requests. Your a mudfarmer who likely just created their account, do you really need a new user name?

I dont really care, just annoying, but it seems like a big waste of time. If a user changes their name, they should have to atleast wait a period until they request it to be changed again. But is this really necessary?

I personally don't think name changes should be offered unless it's under an extenuating circumstance and should be done by PMing a supermod or admin.

This flavour of the month name game is ridiculous in my opinion.

Thumbs Up Re: Changing User-names

If I had a user title I'd change it around more than Spectral changes his avatar.

When i registered i wanted "Not That Guy" and was informed i couldn't have it so i used some other crap name and then went into the name change request and asked for NTG and got it that night.
Seemed kind of weird but what the hell...

i dont see a problem with changing usernames, and it is pretty cool of the admins to do this kind of thing for the users.

There's a thread, I think it's in the "Ideas" section but could be wrong.

Originally I thought there was a rule that it could only be changed once, but I guess that's blown away. It's not a huge deal, I don't pay attention to user names usually. it's the content I'm interested in.

Yeah i know no biggy im just saying im not a fan of it. Sometimes i like to keep track of who is who, makes things more interesting. I just find it silly that mudfarmers who have like 1 post are asking to change their names. Ya dig?

They can do what they want, it just seemed a bit excessive.

I see your point - but a mud farmer with one post is likely just going to make a new account if they want a new name. Someone like us wouldn't really do that, since we'd lost our post counts.
