So, got Assassin's Creed 2 for xmas and, so far, it's been pretty damn fun. Much, much better than the crappy, banal original. It seems Ubisoft have actually listened to their customers, which is good.
I am having a little technical issue, however: every so often the game just crashes for no discernible reason. It happens during gameplay, loading and, I fear, saving! I've yet to lose a save game over it at this point, thank fuck!
I'm playing it on the 360 FYI and I recently installed the automated patch that was released recently. I also cleared my hdd cache (prior to installing the update, of course).
Is anyone else having this issue? I understand a lot of users are experiencing problems.

I have had similar problems with Saints Row and GTA on 360, but not Assassin's Creed 2. When this happens to me, I will clear the cache a couple times in a row. That seems to fix the problems in my experience. I would also suggest installing to hdd, and as a last resort, exchanging the disk.
The following users say "It is so good to hear it!":
The disc is fine and it's I'm playing it from the HDD. Cleared the cache twice, and downloaded the update for AC2.
What now?

i beat the first one but I cant get into this. It hurts holding down the trigger for the whole game, and the fact that there are guards EVERYWHERE who wanna fight you for no reason is annoying.

i dont even have a weapon yet and i'm bored.
I pretty much quit after the "find feathers" mission and the "carry a fucking box at a snail's pace across the city" mission. Worthless shit whose only purpose is to increase the length of the game.
Exchange the disk. Sometmes there is nothing visibly wrong with the disk, but it will still cause a problem with freezing. Shadowrun did this for me, and I exchanged it for a new copy. The new copy worked fine. My best guess would be that whatever problem exists with your disk was installed to the hdd with the game.
Okay, it's not done it for ages now. Perhaps it was because I was playing the fuck out of it for two days. I don't know?

On a side note, it's a really enjoyable game. There's tons more to do than in the last game and the Italian Renaissance is the perfect medieval setting for an assassin.
I can't say I was too impressed with The Truth revelation, but I never really paid much attention to the frame narrative anyway.
