Default Travelling the world for funny accents.

Gidday.
So, being an Australian, I find American and British accents fucking hilarious.
So, tell me some places to go to find some good ones.

Places I'm probably going to include:
-Southern American states
-Northern American states
-England
-Ireland/Scotland (they sound kind of the same, advice on which one will make me laugh harder?)
-Canadia (it's a maybe, but I think canadians say "eh" at the end of every sentence, so that makes it worth visiting).

Alrighty, cheers and thanks.

We think your Aussie accent is the funniest of them all.

But I do recommend the Indian immigrant with Southern accent breed. They're kind of funny.

I used to work with a bunch of Geordies and I couldn't understand them either.

Birmingham, Potteries, Orkney and Somerset accents are pretty hilarious too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably have to narrow it down to two countries though, mainly because of a limited budget (promised my Dad I'd take him to see his family in Japan :/ )

That's an unusual reason to travel. If you want a nice accent go to New England. Connecticut and Vermont are probably the best states in the region, if not the country, so unless you want to spend your entire trip laughing your ass off visit New England instead of the South. And it's just a short distance to Eastern Canada.

what, i'd never send anyone there, theyre two of the most boring states in the union.

Hit Boston, NY, Philly, Virginia, and maybe a middle state. West coast is pretty neutral english. Everyone talks about Texas' accent but its not that bad, nothing compared to Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, etc.

Problem is that because of the BBC using presenters who speak 'proper' English, alot of regional accents are being lost and watered-down.

Then again, I'm from Durham, which is probably not even 20 mile away from Newcastle and the accent is proper different. We speak 'pit-yakker' (pit-speak), and they speak 'geordie'. Probably sounds the same to anyone not from the north-east though.

Personally I reckon Scousers are the funniest because they all sound thick as fuck.

Yeah it's weird that the accent can change so much in such a short distance. Geordie is one of the thickest and well-known accents in the UK but it's pretty much confined to a 20-mile radius. Same in Yorkshire - I can tell the difference between a York accent and a Leeds accent and they're only 15 miles apart.

We don't really say it that much. Well... yeah, we kind of do, but it's really not that interesting at all. Canadians pretty much talk with standard American accents (like what you hear in movies and on TV) unless you're in Quebec, Newfoundland (my fuck, do not even bother considering going to NFLD, fucking Newfies are just lame, disgusting, and disappointing versions of Irish people), or rural areas (and the vast majority of Canadians live in urban areas, so the accents really aren't prevalent). If you really want to hear someone say "eh" a lot, paypal me $20 and I'll have a conversation with you on the phone .

Really, NA in general sucks for accents. There's the West Coast thing, Standard American, Southern, New England, New York, Canadian, the repulsive vomit that is a Quebecker attempting to speak English (or... do I dare imagine, an Acadian or a gaspésien ), Canadian Maritime (weirdly emphasized r's), and a couple other randoms. Pretty blah. So, you want the British Isles. I've said it before, but I've always found it a bit depressing that there's vastly more linguistic diversity in the tiny geographical area between Kent and Yorkshire than between Vancouver and Miami .

Idk if this is what you're talking about but as an American I am absolutely DISGUSTED with the way some Canadians talk... it's like woah, hey you sound just like Americans... but then this happens:

Somerset, in southwest England, has some annoying farmer accents.
When you go to Ireland, find some gypsies/pikeys. That shit isn't even fucking English, it sounds so goddamn weird.(watch out though, they are crafty fuckers)
Go to africa, their heavy african accents are unbelievably hilarious when high.
Also, listen to youths in london speak their cockney brap brap shit. super annoying, but interesting.

and no offence silver but i find the ozzy accent annoying as fuck. there's this guy in my class that imitates and everyone time he does - SMACK

Also, smoke weed with some South Africans.
