Smile What's a good wireless card for linux?

My girlfriend has decided to give linux a try, but we need a good wireless card that works with WPA and doesn't need NDISwrapper to run.

Any suggestions? PCI preferred.

I've had great experiences with intel cards on laptops. If they make them for desktops too I would suggest them but I'm not sure they do.

this is also a pretty good resource:

The store brands from Best Buy and Fry's typically use Atheros chipset. Works fine in Linux and they're cheap.

That's cool, because I ended up getting an Atheros card(Netgear), and it works right out of the box with Mint. I am happy.

This. My dad has a half dozen of those cheap things and they work pretty damn good. Sometimes they are inconsistent as fuck though, but he also has the USB ones.

For USB I'd go with anything Belkin. Shit was picked up and recognized instantly by Linux/Windows (of course). I got the $69 one and that thing is an animal. Maybe drops a connection once a month and I only notice it because I run my computer 24/7 and am on it 18 hours a day.
